Davide Ballardini has returned to the Marassi to begin a third spell in charge of Genoa following Sunday's sacking of Ivan Juric.
The Rossoblu dropped into the Serie A relegation zone following their derby defeat to Sampdoria on Saturday and 24 hours later Croatian head coach Juric paid the price with his job.

Ballardini, now 53, originally joined Genoa in November 2010, lasting only seven months in the role. In January 2013 he was reappointed and saved the club from relegation at the end of the season.
A statement published on genoacfc.it on Monday night said Ballardini had been tasked with leading the first team with assistants Carlo Regno and Stefano Melandri.
