No goals, though, shame. Make sure you read our wrap of events in tonight's other games and we will see you back here for the Premier League this weekend.
FT. SPURS 0-0 LAZIO. Spurs had the better of the game, but could not finish off their Italian opponents. A couple of disallowed goals, and Lazio hit the bar. A steady start for both.
One second later, game over, 0-0.
Naughton off, Mason on. Pointless.
Hernanes off and Ciani on
Bit of extra-time after the delay there..
Cavanada clatters into Naughton and sends him flying. He's down and hurt, but it was clean enough. Almost did a backflip as he went down the Spurs player.
Mauri off, Ederson on.
Long ball played to the back post, Townsend arrives and heads into the ground and over the bar.
Three minutes of extra-time to be played
Ball is chipped in and Vertonghen tries to hook it goalwards. Game of head tennis and nothing comes of it.
Townsend has looked good since arriving, but Spurs have needed a bit more than that
Mauri loses the ball really badly when a ball to Klose was ready for an easy ball
At the other end, Lloris makes an odd decision and goes wandering. Mauri chips it in, but Caulker is there to clear.
Townsend whips a ball in from a tight angle and almost catches out Marchetti at the near post.
Mauri charges and knocks Townsend over. Cynical foul and a deserved card.
Lazio are holding firm well when asked. They don't look like being beaten.
Townsend gets his first touch and does well to release Dembele. Sigurdsson there as well, but they can't break through.
Lennon off, Townsend on.
That could be an attacking move from Lazio - they should be going for the win really.
Onazi off, Zarate on.
Mauri beats the offside trap well, but checks his touch back and Spurs regroup. He should have done a lot better than that.
Dembele looks a bit more lively now, but there are plenty of Lazio defenders back to block him out.
The game is petering out a bit here. Needs a shot in the arm if there's going to be a goal.
Lulic fouls Lennon and there's going to be another sub coming on.
Dempsey off, Sigurdsson on.
Onazi basically just stood all the way down Bale's leg as he slid in to try and block the cross. No malicious, but painful for Bale.
Is the game drifting away now? Bale tries to do something about it, and he's now down with what looks to be an ankle injury.
Lennon just ran the rule over Gonzalez and Lulic there. Very impressive skills from the winger, but he was eventually tackled.
Spurs have been very unlucky on a few counts so far. But they have also been sloppy in the final third, so maybe it evens out.
Another goal disallowed. Caulker rises and heads home, but he was climbing on Mauri. Was he though? Not sure he was...
Tottenham have run out of balls... make your own jokes.
Walker causing issues there and Onazi having a problems with him. Another corner, that must be over ten now and they have yet to make much of an impact.
Replays showing that Dempsey got away from Klose in the box and was basically rugby tackled to the floor. Extra refs... doing nothing.
Another effort comes in and Caulker has a go. There might have been a foul in the box there, but Lazio hack it clear.
Now Gonzalez goes in the book. About time, he might have been off now for fouls on Lennon.
Bale swings the ball in and Sandro gets free. He has a chance to head home, but it skids off his forehead and goes wide. Great chance.
Lennon gets away and Gonzalez cuts him down from behind. Not sure if the ref waved a card there. Actually, no he didn't.
Dias is booked. Which means both CBs are in the book - Biava too.
Lennon got into a good position but then played the ball backwards and lost it. That's the been the story of the game so far though; lots of potential but little final product.
AVB is making a few notes and may well make a change or two. It does need to liven up.
Spurs still looking the more likely. But it's coming in fits and starts.
Great ball from Sandro to Bale, but he was offside. Good pullback from Bale to Defoe who put it in the net, but the whistle had gone.
Midfield battle this, a bit attritional as well
Ledesma and Cavanada looking to make more of an effort in the middle. Difficult for them, but they are both putting in a shift.
Spurs slowly getting more control and keeping the ball away from Lazio again. A corner is forced and more chances to break the deadlock.
Sandro with a through ball but it was a bit aimless.
Lennon is also impressing and was a key part of that move. The captain's armband is agreeing with him obviously.
Defoe has started brightly and the Lazio defence looked like they were all over the place there.
Just before though, Mauri had a go and almost put Lazio in the lead. Good start to the half already.
Two chances in quick succession there. Defoe does really well to slip Lennon in and the ball rebounded almost into the net before being cleared.
Dembele out to Bale, who gets the cross in but Ledesma is there to make the interception well.
Lloris comes out and catches well, positive from the goalkeeper there.
Defoe racing down the side and slams into the advertising boards after a clash with Dias. He's not a happy man.
Lazio knocking the ball around nicely and look better already this half.
Defoe needs to get into this game more in the second half. Not shown enough for me up front.
Kick-off. Lazio get us underway again
Catch up with the rest of the Europa League action as Liverpool beat Young Boys 5-3 and Newcastle drew 0-0.
Andre Villas-Boas points out instructions
HT. SPURS 0-0 LAZIO. Spurs have had most of the game, but Lazio came closest as they hit the bar. Dempsey's goal was wrongly ruled offside.
In fact, it does. Hardly a second of stoppage time there.
Nearing HT now and it looks like it will end 0-0.
Lazio countering well, and that was their best chance of the game
Lazio hit the bar. Gonzalez hit it instantly and it beat Lloris but crashed off the bar. Vertonghen's header out wasn't good enough and that was nearly 1-0.
A shot of the crowd gives us a view of one of the most tattooed men I've ever seen; a Lazio fan.
Lulic on the left is isolated though. He's complaining he was fouled, but really he was just lonely.
Lazio pressing forward more now with Cavanda. They are having a quick spell of possession and could do something before the break.
Bale does well with a great run down the left and gets a cross in. However Defoe wasn't there as he had dropped to the back post.
Sandro almost fell over the ball now. Trod on it and slipped a little, lucky there was no-one around him
Another chance for Lazio. Spurs undone by a quick pass from the right, finds Klose in the middle but he goes for the volley and misses the ball completely.
Dembele gives the ball away and Vertonghen has to get back quickly to stop Klose from putting in a dangerous ball.
However, Spurs need some final product. They have a lot of efforts, but one feels with all the free-kicks they could use a big man up front like Adebayor.
Naughton with great feet to get clear of two men, but the charge is halted with backwards pass. It really it ALL Spurs and Lazio have hardly had the ball.
Defoe and Cavanda clash a little, the striker seemed to be annoyed by the tackle. They shake hands (see people do still do it) and move on.
Another wasted ball in and easily cleared. Spurs have had enough chances to get a good delivery in.
Tottenham lining up another free-kick to swing in. They are getting a lot of chances but have done little so far
Gets a deflection off the wall when Bale strikes it. He may not get the next one.
Heavy tackle on Dempsey from Hernanes. A long way out but could be one of about five stood around the ball.
Sandro surges forward, but he overruns the ball. Spurs are bossing the game at the moment and look the more likely to score.
Lennon again gets behind his man. Lulic comes across and defends well, but the winger should have done a lot better after getting into that position.
Very close, but that looked OK to me. Possibly the toe on his left foot was, but too close to call
Dempsey heads into the net after a great run and cross from Bale. But it's flagged offside. It wasn't.
Dempsey gives it away, but when Lazio try to break they are attacked from all sides and Spurs have the ball back again.
Bale with a long cross, but Klose did very well to get it clear under his own bar. Good defending from the central striker.
Defoe and Lennon combine really well on the edge of the box. Defoe slips him in, but Lennon opts to cross when he should have shot. It rebounds and Lennon crosses again to Bale who heads over with help from the fingertips of the keeper.
Dias lobs the ball back to his goalkeeper, who has to volley clear. That was a tough bouncing ball to deal with, but he did well.
Lazio looking organised, but Spurs have only been troubled once as well.
Sandro and Lennon making a move forward which Gonzalez stops with a foul. Been a little bitty so far and nobody has taken charge.
Vertonghen was there, but the ball is cleared.
Naughton spins away and brought down by Onazi.. poor foul but still no cards.
Bale hits a free-kick that he was standing over in Ronaldo style. But the wall did its job.
Gonzalez fails to get rid of the ball properly and Defoe has a snapshot that is easily saved by Marchetti
Kyle Walker a little at fault for a misguided header to set Lazio away there, but the best chance of the half so far
Great work from Lazio. Ledesma got the ball across and Klose was there... Lloris came rushing out and Klose just dwelt on it for a second and the chance was over
Mauri forward for Lazio but is caught offside. The first time the Italians are there in the final third.
Bale gives it away when trying to link with Naughton. Poor from the Welshman. Not seen too much of him yet, but Spurs working well to get the ball back
Lennon causing trouble down the right, but his cross is too deep and too high for the little Defoe up front.
Lloris hurried with a clearance, but manages to get it away before he is closed down. Bit of a shakey start from the Frenchman.
Ledesma with a crunching tackle on Sandro in the middle. He's done well to avoid a booking for that.
Klose leading the line for Lazio tonight, he was linked with Spurs in the summer and Spurs could really have done with another striker.
Lennon with good work down the right, but is muscled out. He's running about a lot, but isn't actually doing too much
Bale and Dias have a clash in the box, but the foul goes to Lazio and the chance to attack goes.
Aaron Lennon captaining the side tonight, bit of an odd choice but there you go. Might lead by example I suppose.
Lazio haven't had a kick yet, this is quite impressive from the Spurs.
Tottenham haven't given up the ball yet, only a minute in but passing around very well and Dembele looking dangerous.
Kick-off - Tottenham get us underway
But Lazio are a strong side as well. Should be a good game
So Andre Villas-Boas has said he is taking this competition seriously - we'll see how seriously, it's a strong team
Lazio: Marchetti, Lulic, Dias, Biava, Cavanda, Ledesma, Onazi, Gonzalez, Hernanes, Mauri, Klose.
So both Lloris and Dempsey get starts for their new club and it's a pretty strong team from the Spurs.
Team news: Tottenham: Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Caulker, Naughton, Sandro, Dembele, Dempsey, Bale, Lennon, Defoe.
Hugo Lloris is in line for a start
