The biggest concern for Barca could be the injury to Messi. How long he will be out for could determine the tie. Phew. In the other game, Bayern beat Juve 2-0. Join us again next week to find out how the UCL quarter-finals turn out.

An incredible finish there, but Barca will still feel the happier with their two away goals. Overall, Barca probably deserved the win, but PSG held on and did well to fight back.

  • 94'

FT. PSG 2-2 BARCELONA. Messi's sublime opener saw Barca go ahead, then Ibra got one back. A late penalty handed the advantage to Barca again, but Matuidi scored with the last kick

  • 94'

The ball trickled in, but that was the last kick of the game. 2-2.

  • 94'

How on earth did that go in? Valdes went down, but there was a little deflection and he couldn't adjust...

  • 94'

GOAL Matuidi with a late shot and somehow Valdes lets it in!!

  • 92'

Ibra wanders offside again as the ball comes in. He's not done well these last few minutes and looks a bit frustrated.

  • 91'

Ball over the top finds Ibra, who hammers his shot into the net. He was offside though.

  • 90'

Four added minutes to be played...

  • 90'

Very cool finish from Xavi there, under a lot of pressure. Thiago Silva trying to lift his troops, but this looks a mountain for PSG to climb now.

  • 89'

GOAL Xavi scores with ease. 2-1 Barcelona.

  • 89'

Sirigu booked as well. He just wasn't quick enough.

  • 88'

PENALTY. Alexis was slipped through and got there just in front of Sirigu who brought him down. A good decision.

  • 88'

Jallet sends Lucas away, but Iniesta is back there to tidy up. Tello is away on the break, but it's slowed up again and PSG's defenders get back

  • 86'

Ibra goes in the book for that one. He just went in a little late.

  • 86'

Gameiro almost gets through, but the chance is cleared. Alba did very well, then was clattered by Ibra for his troubles.

  • 85'

Alves booked for his reaction to the assistant ref not giving him a decision.

  • 84'

The passing triangles of Barca have been missing for a while now. They will probably be happy with their away goal.

  • 83'

Mascherano down injured now and youngster Bartra will come on.

  • 82'

A decision goes against them and Barca get rattled. They lost their shape for the free-kick and were punished.

  • 81'

Barca had been struggling a bit, and it's probably deserved from PSG there. Both sides will want another to take into the second leg - the French are favourites right now.

  • 81'

    Villa off, Tello comes on.

  • 80'

It's 1-1. That was a little scrappy, but Thiago's header flew off the post and Ibra managed to get back to poke it home. He was offside when the header came in, but it counts!

  • 80'

GOAL Ibra scores after a free-kick header had hit the post and came back out.

  • 78'

Mascherano and Alba are off and PSG take the corner...

  • 77'

Two of Barca's players were down in the box after clashing heads. PSG flicked the ball back in and Ibra was there to hammer his shot into Valdes. If that had gone in, all hell would have broken loose.

  • 77'

Lucas gets his head to the free-kick but he can't direct it. Contact wasn't good and it goes behind for a corner.

  • 76'

    Pastore off, Gameiro on.

  • 75'

Mascherano is now out of the second leg. Menez might not have been touched much there either.

  • 75'

Mascherano booked. Alves was down and hurt, but PSG broke away. A cynical foul on Menez.

  • 74'

Xavi deflected, but it just flies over the bar. Sirigu was not getting there if that was a couple of inches lower.

  • 74'

Villa is fouled and now Barca have a chance from a free-kick.

  • 73'

They have a couple of new players, but need some inspiration to ensure they don't concede another one.

  • 72'

Menez gets his motor running, but then runs out of room. It's gone a little flat for PSG.

  • 71'

Maxwell tricks his way inside, and has a shot which Valdes falls on. Near post effort had to be very special but it wasn't.

  • 70'

    Beckham off, Verratti on

  • 69'

Oh dear, Alves went down and tried to claim Menez kicked him in the back of the head. He didn't.

  • 68'

Alves with the free-kick, but that flies just past the post.

  • 67'

Beckham in the book for a tough tackle on Alexis.

  • 66'

Lavezzi goes off, Menez comes on.

  • 66'

Matuidi booked for a foul on Iniesta. He is suspended for the second leg.

  • 65'

Twice in two minutes, Alexis has escaped Jallet. Should have done better.

  • 65'

Alexis again gets there on the far post. This time he does hit it first time, but did not connect well and Sirigu makes an easy save.

  • 64'

PSG thinking of making some changes by the looks of things. They could do with it.

  • 63'

Great vision again from Alves to spot the runner from deep, but Alexis did not live up to the pass.

  • 63'

Alves great ball over the top - Alexis could have hit it first time but chose to control it and lost the ball. That was a real chance for 2-0.

  • 63'

Matuidi starts a break again, but Ibra's touch is poor in the box. Eventually Valdes comes out to claim a poor cross and the chance escapes.

  • 61'

Alba goes in the book for hauling back Matuidi when PSG were breaking. Good advantage from the ref.

  • 61'

Fabregas slips the ball to Alexis who made a run through the middle. His shot is blocked though.

  • 60'

Now Barca back on the ball. Short and sharp passes coming back in, but Thiago Silva slides across when Villa tries to feed Alexis.

  • 59'

Fabregas is running a lone furrow at the moment and tries to get through a couple of defenders. He is crowded out, but then he does have some sizeable boots to fill.

  • 58'

If he had missed his tackle there, that would have been the equaliser for sure. Great vision from the Swede.

  • 57'

Pique with a wonderful tackle as Matuidi almost got on the end of a wonderful flick through from Ibra.

  • 57'

Ibra now controls the ball well in the box. Tries to get his shot away again, but Alves is there to mop up again.

  • 56'

Pastore was free down the left, but the ball from Ibra was not good enough. He let it hit him , rather than running into the space.

  • 55'

Fabregas trying to bustle his way through, but it's all a bit of a struggle at the moment. Neither team has been able to string a set of passes together.

  • 54'

Alves smashes a ball across the pitch, but Jallet is there to get a foot in. He's done well diving in, but it's a dangerous game that.

  • 53'

Ibra takes the ball in the box, but he is just crowded out as he looks to turn and shoot.

  • 53'

PSG pressing high up the pitch. Six players pushing the Barca defenders into mistakes.

  • 51'

Mascherano and Matuidi clash inside the box, but the ball was long gone and the Frenchman ran into him. No penalty.

  • 50'

Xavi's corner goes deep, Matuidi can't clear properly then Busquets hits his shot into the hands of Sirigu.

  • 49'

Fabregas finds some space, but his shot doesn't beat Thiago Silva who has been excellent.

  • 49'

Jallet is whistled for hustling Iniesta. PSG are certainly more physical this half already

  • 48'

Beckham takes a kick in the shins but wins the free-kicks. Surely he won't go off now as well?

  • 48'

Flick on from Villa, but it comes to nothing. Great piece of skill as Thiago Silva tricks Fabregas just before clearing the ball

  • 47'

Alba clears the ball after PSG's pressure. The French side are swarming around Barca in the opening stages and smell blood.

  • 46'

Beckham starts off well by spraying a fine pass wide to Maxwell. Maybe he will be have some licence to roam now.

  • 46'

KICK-OFF PSG will be buoyed by the Messi news.. the crowd are up and cheering.

  • 45'

    Messi off, Fabregas comes on

Messi deadly - he only received one pass inside the box, but scored from it. Will he make it out for the second half?

    Messi slots the opener away

Barca have been relatively comfortable, although PSG have looked good on the break. One moment is all this team need and Messi found it.

Barcelona will obviously wait to see if he can continue, but the signs do not look good. Fabregas could well be coming on shortly.

  • 45'

HALF-TIME: PSG 0-1 BARCELONA. A wonderful pass from Alves and sweet finish from Messi has made the difference, but Messi could be injured now.

  • 45'

    One added minute...

  • 44'

Fabregas is warming up as well. Messi's game could well be over here. They just aren't passing him the ball.

  • 44'

Barca playing with then-men at the moment as Messi awaits treatment. He's just rubbing the back of his thigh, so that could be it.

  • 43'

Messi and Vilanova are having a chat while the game goes on. He might be injured you know...

  • 42'

Messi charges through the defenders and, after cutting inside Thiago Silva, his curling effort misses the post by about an inch.

  • 41'

PSG seem to have been hit hard by that goal. They are struggling to get their feet on the ball again.

  • 40'

Barca are back in control of the ball again. They will want another before the half and Villa is flagged offside after a good ball from Alexis.

  • 39'

So, Barca are ahead. PSG can count themselves unlucky, as they have had the better chances, but you can't leave Messi alone for one second.

  • 38'

Alves with a fantastic ball over the top with the outside of his right foot. PSG were caught out and that is a super finish from Messi.

  • 38'

GOAL Messi picks the ball up from over the top and he drives it low into the net.

  • 37'

Alexis is trying to stir something. Alba makes the run, but he cuts inside and shoots. Deflection and just past the post.

  • 36'

Messi is off key. He overhits a pass to Alves, who does well to win a corner. The No. 10 has hardly found any space this game so far.

  • 35'

Sanchez knocks it into Villa, who stands up and tries to flick it back. Just doesn't hit it hard enough and the chance is gone.

  • 34'

Alba penalised for the high boot. Lucas is out on that wing and the pair have been battling all game long.

  • 33'

Ibra with a brilliant reverse pass which slips through the Barca defence. Lavezzi was offside by an inch though.

  • 32'

Thiago Silva shows good reaction time to snuff out a break from Iniesta. He almost found space, but the Brazilian watched him well and got it away.

  • 31'

Alexis spins inside and tries to hit the shot. It's blocked by the numbers that are defending inside the box.

  • 30'

Matuidi and Beckham are dealing with Messi well. Standing up, not committing to a tackle and making sure the defenders are aware of his presence.

  • 29'

Ibra looking to get himself against a defender, but Alvez comes back to help out. His role has been important as you can't leave the Swede one-on-one.

  • 28'

Ibra loses it and Messi has a chance to run at the defence. Alex with a well timed tackle and the Argentine has been lacking a little so far.

  • 27'

Good run from Villa almost gets him in on goal, but Sirigu gets out quickly and snuffs the danger out.

  • 27'

PSG do look good for a goal on the break. Barca are committing too many forward and are left short when they lose the ball. It's all a bit slow for them.

  • 26'

Lucas breaks and PSG are away. The ball finds Ibra, who dances away on the left and hits his shot across the box.

  • 24'

PSG putting 9 men behind the ball whenever Barca have possession and causing them to pass around. It's slow, which is good from the home side's point of view.

  • 23'

Busquets hits his own post in error

  • 23'

Iniesta tries an effort at the near post, but Sirigu gets down well and claims with ease.

  • 22'

The ball bounces across to Messi in the box, he controls and tries to shift it to get a shot away but Thiago Silva robs him. Class from the defender.

  • 21'

Messi dropping deeper looking for the ball. That means whatever PSG are doing, it's working.

  • 20'

Lavezzi and Pastore are trying to make an opening, but the final ball is just not good enough. PSG pressing Barca when it matters.

  • 19'

Matuidi crashes into Busquets, but there is no card coming. The PSG midfielder has done well so far and is a bundle of energy.

  • 19'

Amazed Beckham let anyone take that off him. Mr Ibrahimovic is top dog in Paris though, so he gets to make the calls.

  • 18'

Ibra blasts the free-kick low, but Valdes gets it away.

  • 18'

The free-kick is just outside the box. Beckham wants it, but so does everyone else...

  • 17'

Pique in the book. Good skill from Ibra, too good for Pique and he brings him down.

  • 16'

Messi turns and gets a chance to run at the defence, but he opts to pass. The ball eventually finds Iniesta who tries to curl it, but it flies just wide.

  • 16'

Alves causing problems from a wide area on the right. His final ball has been poor though.

  • 15'

Pastore with a long range effort. Valdes scrambles and manages to save it. It squirms away, but he recovers and dives on the ball again.

  • 14'

Beckham delivery again. Lucas gets his head on it, but can't direct goalwards.

  • 13'

PSG slowly getting into this and putting some passes together. Lucas goes past Busquets, who brings him down. Last warning for the midfielder before a yellow card comes out.

  • 13'

Beckham from a corner... Alex leaps and gets his head to it, but there was no power behind it.

  • 11'

Pique bundled over the sideline by Ibrahimovic, but there is no foul. PSG break and Mascherano slides in to get the ball away from Lucas.

  • 11'

Miscontrol from Xavi - write that one down, you don't see that very often.

  • 10'

Lucas flicks the ball over to Lavezzi in space, and the Argentine hits his shot at Valdes. He was offside though.

  • 9'

Iniesta threads a pass through the eye of the needle and Villa dives to get on the end of it. It's just out of reach.

  • 9'

Beckham hasn't had much of the ball, but then neither have PSG. They have, however, had the best chance in front of goal.

  • 8'

Alves in space, passes it square to Messi who is closed down. Xavi gets it and has a shot, but it flies well over.

  • 7'

Great work from Alba down the left and gets a cross in, but well cleared by the defenders.

  • 6'

Barca back into their passing game, but that would have scared them. PSG will have belief that they can hit the Catalans on the break.

  • 5'

Incredible, after hardly a touch, PSG hit the post. Barca escape there...

  • 5'

POST. Lavezzi was put through, but Valdes was nowhere. Pique came back and was almost tricked, the ball is clipped by the back-running Busquets and hits the post.

  • 4'

Beckham has a chance to swing a free-kick in now. But takes it short and Matuidi lets it slip under his foot.

  • 3'

Jallet stops Alexis and that's touch number two. Barcelona looks really up for this and have their passing game going already.

  • 3'

First touch for PSG is a free-kick from goalkeeper Sirigu

  • 2'

Xavi is controlling everything. He chips the ball over the top for Alves to run onto, but he pushed his man and it's a foul.

  • 1'

Yet to touch the ball PSG...

  • 1'

Huge boos already as the whistle goes. This is a very loud and passionate French crowd.

  • 1'

    KICK-OFF: Barcelona get us underway...

This is the acid test for big-spending PSG. They spent over £200 million on various stars, but can they match up against arguably the best team in the world? We'll see in a minute...

Unsurprising 4-3-3 from Barca. The usual trio in the middle, Sanchez and Villa out wide with Messi as the 'false 9'.

Line-up appears to be a 4-4-2 for PSG with Beckham and Matuidi in the middle, Lavezzi and Lucas out wide. You would imagine they will tuck in when they don't have the ball.

Ibra will be looking to bully Mascherano up the other end of the pitch, so there will be some intriguing battles all around.

All the debate ahead of this game is whether Beckham has the legs to play against Barca. He'll be in central midfield, but won't have a lot of the ball to play with.

Lots of talk about Ibrahimovic facing his old side. Don't forget Maxwell is also doing so. Ibra will probably have more impact to be fair...

Interested to see how Matuidi deals with Messi. He's impressed all season as a tough tackling defensive midfielder. Big engine on him, so he won't shirk a challenge.

Xavi returns for Barcelona, which is key. The trio of him, Iniesta and Busquets in the middle will be where it all happens. Until Messi gets the ball of course.

Interestingly, the last two times that David Beckham has faced Barcelona in the UCL, it has ended 3-3. (Opta)

So the big news there is that DAVID BECKHAM is playing for PSG. Big game for the veteran Englishman to be given a start in!

PSG team: Sirigu; Jallet, Alex, Silva, Maxwell; Moura, Beckham, Matuidi, Pastore; Lavezzi, Ibrahimovic

Barcelona team: Valdes; Alves, Mascherano, Pique, Alba; Busquets, Iniesta, Xavi; Villa, Messi, Sanchez

There is no Ibra vendetta as PSG welcome Barca, writes Jonathan Johnson, while Francesc Tomas says that the Blaugrana would certainly be wrong to underestimate their hungry rivals.

Despite netting 23 goals, Ibrahimovic's year at Barca was widely regarded as a failure

Join us at 1945 BST to see if big-spending PSG can overcome the test of Spanish league leaders Barcelona.
