  • 94'

Wigan 1-1 Chelsea. The Blues made to pay for being complacenct after Sturridge had scored the game's first goal. Massive credit must go to Wigan - they kept battling and were duly rewarded when a stinker from Cech gifted Gomez an equaliser. Will the knives be out for AVB again?

  • 94'

The DW Stadium faithful roaring their side on. But it's all over...

  • 93'

Shot from Kalou straight into Al-Habsi's grateful grasp.

  • 92'

Moses speeds away having been fed by Rodallega, he looks for Di Santo unmarked in the middle. Di Santo pulled back it seemed but the ref shakes his head. Was close to the edge of the box, and would have probably been a red for Bosingwa if the ref had given the foul.

  • 91'

Wigan certainly looking the hungrier of the two sides. Stam crosses again towards Di Santo. He heads it wide again and was penalised for climbing over Bosingwa.

  • 90'

Stam's cross is met by Di Santo but he can't direct it goalwards.

  • 90'

Wigan still pouring forward, they're chasing all three points.

  • 89'

Well, Chelsea punished for being poor and unadventurous since scoring their opener.

  • 88'

Wigan 1-1 Chelsea Four in five games for Gomez. Cech spilled it straight into his path from Rodallega's tame toe poke. A howler.

  • 88'

    GOAL Gomez scores for Wigan.

  • 86'

Malouda with a good piece of trickery to elude a couple of opponents but his final shot is dragged wide.

  • 85'

Chelsea being forced to defend resolutely at present, but another move breaks down for Wigan.

  • 83'

Caldwell lobs a pass towards Moses, who lays it off to Di Santo. The Argentinian scoops it over, but Moses had used his arm anyway.

  • 82'

The Latics attempting to build things up patiently.

  • 82'

Lampard ponderous on the ball and Wigan continue to press.

  • 81'

Malouda of course was the match-winner in the last meeting between these sides back in April. That was 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, this one is heading for 1-0 as well at the moment.

  • 80'

    Malouda on for Sturridge.

  • 79'

Malouda about to come on and that means no Fernando Torres this evening. Is that the confidence boost that Villas-Boas promised to give his striker? An interesting motivational technique indeed.

  • 78'

Wigan really looking buoyed after that Ivanovic error.

  • 77'

Sturridge the latest Chelsea player to be felled, getting a knee to the back from Figueroa.

  • 76'

Cech prevented the corner from being taken for a good minute as he was down injured on all fours. I wonder if Chelsea have any knee masks in their kit bag...

  • 75'

Ivanovic passes it back to Cech, completely underhits it and Rodallega almost took it off the goalkeeper. Cech did really well to get a block in, it was really brave. A shot came in as it fell to Di Santo but it was deflected out for a corner.

  • 74'

Saying that, he is now jogging towards the touchline. He is coming back on. I'm surprised.

  • 73'

His left knee looks to be the problem area. This could be really bad news for Chelsea. I'd be surprised to see Terry stay on.

  • 73'

Terry down in a heap after landing awkwardly when rising with Di Santo.

  • 73'

    Di Santo on for Sammon.

  • 72'

    Rodallega on for Jones.

  • 72'

Not this time. Cech out to meet Jones' ball into the box. He eats those for breakfast.

  • 72'

Moses wins another Wigan corner. Can they make one of these count?

  • 71'

Terrible decision-making from Sturridge. He strode through unopposed but with a chance to lay it back to one of three Chelsea team-mates, he scuffed a right-foot cross.

  • 70'

It drops to McCarthy, who lashes it wide of the right-hand post.

  • 69'

    Wigan corner now.

  • 68'

Caldwell wins a header in impressive fashion and puts Drogba on his backside in the process.

  • 67'

Wigan lining up a pair of attacking substitutions. Di Santo and Rodallega being prepared.

  • 67'

Chelsea dropping quite deep at the moment, the old high defensive line looks long gone.

  • 66'

Hmmm. There's a substitution to excite their fans.

  • 66'

    Mikel on for Mata.

  • 65'

The subsequent corner is wasted by the Latics.

  • 64'

Figueroa strikes one well from the edge of the box and Cech saves brilliantly.

  • 63'

Wigan trying to push forward a bit more now, which could potentially put them at risk on the break.

  • 62'

Daniel Sturridge has given Chelsea the lead.

  • 61'

Jones shoots from just outside of the area but it slices wide of Cech's goal.

  • 60'

It had certainly been coming, Chelsea have been the better side on the balance of things.

  • 60'

Chelsea with their best piece of attacking play when Lampard was off the pitch, coincidence?

  • 59'

Wigan 0-1 Chelsea. A great pass and a great finish. A long diagonal from Cole was plucked out of the air by Sturridge, he took it to his left and drove a low right-foot shot past Al Habsi. Cracking stuff from the young forward.

  • 59'

    GOAL Sturridge.

  • 57'

Lampard bleeding after Diame catches him in the mouth with a stray elbow.

  • 56'

Bosingwa convinced he deserves a free-kick after running into Jones. No obstruction says referee Atkinson.

  • 55'

This may be hard to believe but Kalou has actually added something to the Chelsea team since coming on. A bit of direct running certainly hasn't hurt.

  • 54'

Kalou does well hugging the by-line and finds Drogba, who manages to manufacture a right-foot prod from a difficult angle. It ripples the side netting and amusingly the Chelsea fans begin to celebrate thinking it was in.

  • 54'

Cole in acres of space down the left and he sends Kalou away.

  • 53'

Mata sends the ball in but there's no Chelsea head anywhere near it.

  • 52'

Figueroa pulls back Mata and it's a Chelsea free-kick on the right wing.

  • 51'

Moses playing keepy-uppy with the ball inside the box, he flicked it over Terry's head but having teed himself up for a volley, smashed the ball out for a throw-in on the far side. Could have been a dream goal but ended up a nightmare shot.

  • 50'

Figueroa turns away from Drogba and that sums up the Ivorian's night really. He's been disappointing and has verged on lazy at times.

  • 50'

Great defensive header by Caldwell, with Drogba loitering with intent just behind him.

  • 49'

Shot from Moses from a similar position to Gomez. Collected by Cech.

  • 48'

He should thank his lucky stars that it was a boot and not saliva thrust in his direction.

  • 48'

Drogba wincing in pain and holding his arm after being caught by Alcaraz's boot.

  • 48'

Lampard delivers, Kalou knocks it over.

  • 47'

Kalou makes some space in the box and wins a corner.

  • 47'

Cracking effort from Gomez with the outside of his left foot from left of centre just outside the box. Dipped just wide of Cech's goal.

  • 46'

An attacking substitution from the Chelsea management team. I wonder if Drogba had a say in bringing on his compatriot.

  • 45'

    Kalou on for Romeu.

  • 45'

And we're off for the second-half...

  • 45'

I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Chelsea dressing-room to see the team-talk from John Terry ( Villas-Boas, I mean Villas-Boas - I'm not sure what's wrong with me tonight).

  • 45'

Moses has been decent for Wigan, but I've also been impressed with Diame so far. I was pretty disparaging about him when he pulled out a trick but he made me eat my words by repeating the feat a couple of minutes later. A bit of finesse to add to his unquestionable physicality.

  • 45'

Could we about to see Torres get back to his best? I must confess I'm not convinced.

  • 45'

Comment on Twitter from @dai_peters: "Drogba off to ACN, David Villa out of Euros. Enter Fernando!"

  • 45'

Reckon we will see Torres at some point in the second half. Not sure whether that's a good or bad thing for Blues fans.

  • 45'

Nope, not very impressive. Wigan have defended pretty well but Chelsea haven't really created enough chances. That Drogba header was the best one.

  • 45'

Comment from @Harshalgd on Twitter: "chelsea not looking very good and as comfortable as they usually are..."

  • 45'

HALF-TIME: Wigan 0-0 Chelsea. It threatened to get going in the early stages but it's been a dog of a first half really. Not pretty and chances few and far between. Moses has impressed for Wigan, no-one has really stepped up for Chelsea. Let's hope things improve significantly in the second half.

  • 45'

Moses was half a yard away from scoring for Wigan, the ball across the box was just beyond him.

  • 45'

Bosingwa crosses and it falls to Meireles who takes on the shot with a superb technique but it's deflected away from goal.

  • 44'

Drogba advances in a dangerous position but takes it on himself instead of passing wide. Greedy stuff from Didier.

  • 43'

Moses wins a free-kick and the Wigan fans sarcastically cheer Martin Atkinson for giving it. Oh, to be a referee.

  • 42'

It did hit his arm but it would have been a very harsh decision to give a penalty. His arms were down and had it not hit them it would have just hit his thigh anyway. Good decision in my book.

  • 41'

Cries of handball from the Wigan faithful as Moses' shot strikes Ivanovic.

  • 40'

Jones swings it in, Caldwell with a remarkably deft touch for a centre-back to bring it down. But as he prepares to swing a left-foot at it, the ball is pickpocketed from him.

  • 39'

Moses wins another corner for the Latics. He's easily been the hosts' best player so far.

  • 39'

Drogba heads just wide. That was a good chance. He was stooping at the far post, but couldn't steer it goalwards.

  • 38'

Meireles strikes one but it hits McCarthy.

  • 37'

    Come on lads, chances please.

  • 36'

Terry and Sammon collide now, but the referee is not convinced it was a foul by the Chelsea captain.

  • 35'

Diame on the burst and finds Moses, who comes together with Ivanovic. Just a good piece of defending from the Serbian.

  • 34'

You know I said this was an alright game about 15 minutes ago? I lied. This is rubbish.

  • 32'

Diame strikes from the edge of the penalty area but it was always swinging away from goal.

  • 32'

Cech flaps but gets away with it.

  • 31'

David Jones to swing it in.

  • 30'

Moses releases Sammon and it's a great run by the striker. Moses gets it back in the box and wins a corner.

  • 29'

Chelsea just popping the ball around unpressured in midfield.

  • 29'

Sturridge is back on the right now.

  • 29'

Mata with space to run into on the left wing but his cross is met by Caldwell.

  • 28'

Excellent hold-up play from Connor Sammon and Moses is looking hungry for the ball.

  • 27'

Marauding run from Ronnie Stam, in a similar vein to his namesake Jaap in his heyday.

  • 26'

Sturridge has moved over to the left now, though Mata doesn't appear to have come right. Looking a bit left-heavy now Chelsea.

  • 25'

Cech with an absolute hospital pass towards Romeu and he's very lucky that Moses seemed to turn away just as he had the opportunity to steal the ball away.

  • 24'

Chelsea probing and probing, Wigan dropping deeper and deeper.

  • 23'

Stat attack: Prior to this game, Chelsea had allowed their opponents just 51 shots on target this season, fewer than any other Premier League team.

  • 22'

Decent strike from Oriol Romeu and Al-Habsi tips it around the post.

  • 21'

Villas-Boas looking calm so far, I haven't seen too much crouching as yet.

  • 20'

Bosingwa searches for Cole with a cross-field pass but it sails out of play much to the delight of the home fans.

  • 19'

Alcaraz fires a pass into Moses as though he'd done something to offend him, but he does really well to control it before taking a touch too many.

  • 18'

It's been an alright game so far, just need some proper chances to really spark things into life. Chelsea look comfortable, but Wigan have pace on the break to trouble them with Moses.

  • 17'

Mata's delivery doesn't get past the first man.

  • 16'

Sturridge again has the beating of Jones and Figueroa down the right but the latter manages to poke the ball away for a corner.

  • 15'

Diame with another neat turn, but his final ball is picked up by Bosingwa.

  • 14'

Terry with a VERY optimistic shot from 30 yards that lands just wide. Decent effort from the Blues gaffer (skipper, I mean skipper).

  • 13'

Wigan giving the ball away carlessly and they can't really afford to do that when the likes of Mata and Drogba are lurking.

  • 12'

Ivanovic gives the ball to Moses and the young forward looks to take on a shot, but Bosingwa is back in to intercept.

  • 11'

Diame with a tasty flick to get past Romeu. Yes, you did read that right - a tasty flick from Mohamed Diame.

  • 11'

The visitors controlling things at the moment and boxing Wigan in.

  • 10'

Cole's turn to cross this time and Wigan looking very exposed down the wings, Caldwell heads it away with Sturridge bombing in looking to pounce behind him.

  • 9'

Lovely skills from Sturridge to open up some space down the right but his cross is cleared away. Meireles tries a cross of his own but it's the same result and Wigan can breathe again.

  • 8'

Diame gives the ball away but Mata can't capitalise.

  • 8'

Cole, Mata and Lampard combine as Chelsea push forward. But the move ends with Bosingwa spooning a cross straight into Al-Habsi's hands.

  • 7'

Just saw a replay of the Gomez penalty claim. He went down before there was even any contact. Appalling dive.

  • 6'

A high foot from Ivanovic nearly decapitated Moses and Wigan have a free-kick inside the centre circle.

  • 6'

Stat attack: In the corresponding fixture last season, there were no corners in the entire game.

  • 5'

Gomez goes down in the area under pressure from Cole but the referee shakes his head.

  • 4'

Gomez feeds Jones and he wins a corner for the Latics.

  • 4'

Chelsea with a sustained period of possession but fail to manufacture a chance. Wigan not looking too bad this far.

  • 3'

Cech nearly handballs outside the area after sliding to collect the ball. He almost slid all the way out of the box but released his hands just in time.

  • 2'

Jones, Gomez and Moses with a good passing triangle. It's like watching Barcelona... if Barca were a relatively poorly supported club from the North-West of England struggling at the bottom of the Premier League.

  • 1'

Chelsea get us underway, and Cech has a tricky right-foot clearance to make inside the first minute. He does well.

    And we're off...

Right, kick-off awaits. Interesting fact - the World Pie-Eating Championship took place in Wigan this week. And no, I didn't win.

Hardly sticking my neck on the line here, but I can only see a Chelsea victory this evening. What a gambler I am.

Chelsea manager (ahem, I mean captain) John Terry leads the Blues out at the DW Stadium.

For anyone, anywhere, you can choose your best Premier League XI of 2011.

For those of you in the UK, you can catch all the action from every Barclays Premier League match on your mobile for FREE on the enhanced ESPN Goals app.

The aggregate scoreline from the past three games against Wigan is 15-0. Though the Latics were only beaten 1-0 at Stamford Bridge back in April. Here at the DW Stadium, it was a 6-0 defeat last season.

Chelsea welcome Frank Lampard back into the starting line-up after he came on to score the winner against Manchester City on Monday. Senor Torres remains on the bench.

Wigan are unchanged from the side that beat West Brom last week, Victor Moses had a storming game next Saturday and Roberto Martinez said afterwards that he's keen for him to keep improving.

I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on the game throughout - you can share them with me on Twitter, @marklomasESPN the place to go.

Hello all and welcome to live text commentary of Chelsea v Wigan. I'm Mark Lomas and I'll be taking you through all the action from the DW Stadium, as the in-form Latics (well, two wins in three games is good for them) host the in-form Blues.

In the build-up to the game, Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has been promising to stick by misfiring Fernando Torres.

Florent Malouda's goal gave Chelsea a narrow 1-0 win over the Latics when they met at Stamford Bridge in April.
