Thanks for following the game with Soccernet, and stick around for all the post-match reaction and analysis.

  • 90'

You can read our match report of today's game here.

  • 90'

Brazil will now play the team that finishes second in Group H, with Portugal taking on the winners. That group is resolved tonight as Chile play Spain and Switzerland take on Honduras.

  • 90'

As for Ivory Coast, they will regret not pushing for victory in their opening game against Portugal. That 0-0 draw has been their undoing. They were outclassed by Brazil and deserved winners today, but leave Ghana as the only African contenders in the second round.

  • 90'

It always was the group of death, and as expected North Korea have not picked up a point. While they were soundly beaten by Portugal and Ivory Coast, that 2-1 defeat to Brazil was a memorable performance, full of promise that has been unfulfilled.

  • 90'

FULL-TIME Both Ivory Coast and North Korea are eliminated from the World Cup.

  • 90'

Kolo Toure heads wide from Eboue's cross after getting in front of Drogba to meet the ball. Just seconds remaining.

  • 90'

North Korea want to finish strongly and string together a nice move, but it peters out.

  • 90'

Two minutes into added time and Drogba heads wide from the centre of the box. As Africa's leading player, it is such a shame his World Cup has been a disappointment.

  • 90'

Ri bravely battles on despite the fact he is hobbling along his line. Drogba attempts a clever backheel but it doesn't come off, and Ri is not tested.

  • 90'

We will have five minutes of added time here.

  • 90'

Ri, meanwhile, needs more treatment after yet another collision. He has really been in the wars today.

  • 89'

Drogba's delivery finds Kalou but as a well-drilled North Korean defence all charged out as the kick was taken, four or five Ivorians are offside.

  • 88'

Pak Chol-Jin chops Kalou to the floor and Ivory Coast have a free-kick.

  • 87'

Ri looks in some pain in the North Korea goal. Why don't they bring on that striker they registered as a 'keeper, just for a laugh?

  • 86'

North Korea to win, with bet365
Ivory Coast to win, with bet365

  • 86'

Goal disallowed! Ivory Coast think they have a fourth when Aruna Dindane taps in from close range after a free-kick is headed on, but he is offside.

  • 85'

Ri's injury is preventing him from taking free kicks so perhaps he has been affected by it. Ivory Coast should test him out.

  • 84'

ESPN Stats & Info: Ivory Coast's 15 shots on target are the most by any team so far in this World Cup. In 107 previous World Cup matches, no African side has scored more than three goals in a single match.

  • 83'

Ri requires treatment as Kalou landed on his leg when scoring that goal. The 'keeper is okay though.

  • 82'

GOAL! Salomon Kalou makes it 3-0. Boka plays a fine ball into the forward and he leaps to meet the ball with his right instep, guiding it past Ri for a fine finish.

  • 81'

Jong Tae-Se wastes a great chance! The striker bundles his way to goal and with Barry grounded, cannot get a clean shot away. How disappointing for the striker.

  • 80'

Eboue's corner goes deep to Drogba but his header floats into the gloves of Ri. It just hasn't happened for Drogba today, and he will not remember this World Cup fondly.

  • 79'

Seydou Doumbia comes on for Romaric, who has been excellent today.

  • 79'

Now Choe tests Barry from 20 yards with a low effort. Two shots on target in two minutes? What is going on?

  • 78'

Jong has a sniff of a chance but his weak effort poses no problems for Barry in the Ivorian goal.

  • 77'

So it looks as though Svennis will be taking an early plane home from the World Cup. Rumours suggest Mr Eriksson will be arriving as Roy Hodgson's replacement at Fulham, should he join Liverpool.

  • 75'

North Korea to win, with bet365
Ivory Coast to win, with bet365

  • 75'

Drogba attempts to muscle his way into the box but is robbed of possession by An Yong-Hak. A great tackle.

  • 75'

Romaric celebrates his goal, but we've not seen another since then.

  • 74'

Ivory Coast have 15 minutes left of their World Cup campaign, and it looks like ending in disappointing fashion. They should have pushed on after those two early goals.

  • 72'

Kalou wastes another chance as he rifles a shot well off target after being played in by Boka. Chelsea team-mate Drogba wanted the pass.

  • 72'

Yaya Toure twists away from Ahn Yong-Hak and plays the ball square to Kalou, and while Ri fumbles the Chelsea forward's shot, he gathers at the second attempt.

  • 71'

A fan doesn't seem too impressed with the match.

  • 70'

North Korea try to release Jong Tae-Se with another long ball but try as he might, the striker cannot get on the end of it.

  • 69'

The game is drifting away from Ivory Coast now. What little hope they had has dissipated. Portugal will be going through unless something extraordinary happens.

  • 69'

ESPN Stats & Info: The worst goal difference in a World Cup group stage was -14 by Zaire in 1974. North Korea are currently at -10.

  • 68'

Romaric forces Ri into a diving stop with a fierce effort from 25 yards.

  • 67'

    Choe Kum-Chol replaces Mun In-Guk.

  • 66'

Yaya Toure has an effort from 20 yards blocked as Ivory Coast try and find a way through. This is proving frustrating for them now.

  • 65'

So the two players flanking Drogba are substituted. Eriksson might have been better off removing a defender or two, given they need to score five more.

  • 64'

Gervinho and Kader Keita are replaced by Aruna Dindane and Salomon Kalou.

  • 63'

Pak Nam-Chol tries a backheeled flick but if fails to come off. On the break, Kader Keita's cross picks out Gervinho but he fails to get his boot on the ball. That should have been 3-0.

  • 62'

Yaya plays a cross-field ball to Boka and his cross floats invitingly to Drogba, but the striker times his header wrong and misses a decent chance.

  • 61'

Boka with the delivery from the left, and his cross is too strong. Over in Durban, Raul Meireles is denied by a great save from Julio Cesar. That would have killed off Ivory Coast in all honesty.

  • 60'

North Korea to win, with bet365
Ivory Coast to win, with bet365

  • 59'

You could never accuse Jong of lacking confidence. The man who promised three goals at the finals takes on a volely from the tightest of angles, and sees his shot dribble across the face of goal.

  • 58'

Keita sprays a pass out to Gervinho on the left but he fails to control and the ball runs out of play. Disappointing.

  • 57'

Ivory Coast are playing the ball around neatly but they are being met with two banks of four red shirts every time they attack. They are rapidly losing momentum at the moment.

  • 56'

Kolo Toure connects with a cross and his header falls into the path of Drogba. Under pressure from Pak Chol-Jin, he stoops to head and sends the ball over the bar. He should have hit the target really.

  • 54'

Jong Tae-Se attempts to release Ahn Yong-Hak with a defence-splitting pass but there was just too much on it. That was a lot better from North Korea though. No doubt they got a stern talking-to at half-time.

  • 53'

At the other end, Jong enjoys his first proper chance of the game as he drills in a shot to the near post that Barry smothers.

  • 53'

Magical stuff from Eboue (not a familiar scenario to Arsenal fans) as he ducks inside a challenge on the right and drives into the box, only to see his cross cleared from just in front of goal.

  • 51'

Emmanuel Eboue is not noted for his composure in front of goal and after pulling a pass down well, he sends a volley well over the bar. Arsenal fans will recognise the scenario.

  • 50'

Keita finds Yaya with a clever backheel but the cross is just too high for Gervinho as the forward arrives at the back post. Lovely stuff from Ivory Coast.

  • 49'

A floated free-kick to the back post finds Kolo Toure but he tries to cushion a pass back across goal and sends it too close to Ri.

  • 48'

That incident disrupted the start of the second half but we are now back underway as Ivory Coast look to rack up a few goals.

  • 47'

North Korea 'keeper Ri requires treatment after a clash wih Kader Keita, but he appears okay to continue.

  • 46'

  • 45'

North Korea to win, with bet365
Ivory Coast to win, with bet365

  • 45'

Comment from Dale Johnson: I'm looking forward to some great attacking play from Sven's team in the second half, not to mention some masterful, positive substitutions to fire Ivory Coast to the eight goals they may need.

  • 45'

Romaric has been the best performer so far, although Yaya Toure, Drogba and Keita have also excelled. Gervinho looks bright but needs to sharpen up on his finishing.

  • 45'

What has happened to the North Korea side that took on Brazil? They have been very, very poor. No doubt that defeat to Portugal has taken the stuffing out of them. Ivory Coast can put on a real show here.

  • 45'

It is 0-0 over in Durban between Portugal and Brazil so whatever happens here, Ivory Coast are heading home at present. Portugal must lose for the Elephants to have any chance.

  • 45'

HALF-TIME Ivory Coast lead 2-0 thanks to goals from Yaya Toure and Romaric, but they could have had a lot more. Can they bag five in the second half to have a chance of progressing?

  • 45'

Yaya Toure celebrates with his team-mates

  • 45'

Drogba dinks the ball into the box to find Gervinho and as he arcs his head back to meet the cross, he fails to get the necessary power to beat Ri.

  • 44'

North Korea's big players like Jong Tae-Se and Hong Jong-Jo really haven't got gonig at all today. They have been very disappointing.

  • 43'

Drogba produces a superb first-time lay-off for Gervinho but again the move breaks down. As the chances continue to come, Eboue receives the ball square from Yaya Toure and shoots over from 25 yards.

  • 42'

Gervinho looks to work his way in from the right but is marshalled nearly all the way back to the half-way line. Good defending from North Korea, which I haven't been able to say vey often.

  • 41'

Another nice passing move from Ivory Coast but when Gervinho slips the ball to Drogba, he cannot get a shot away and is penalised for a push.

  • 40'

ESPN Stats & Info: All 11 of the goals conceded by North Korea at this tournament have come from inside the 18-yard box.

  • 38'

Romaric embarks on a driving run that takes him to the heart of the North Korea defence, where he hits a brick wall. The Ivorians work the ball wide to Gervinho though and his toe-poke flies just wide.

  • 37'

Drogba does superbly to shield the ball from two markers, nip away from them both and drive into the box, but he has no options as he looks for a pass and North Korea get a foot in to clear.

  • 37'

Cha bursts forward down the right and crosses into the box, where Barry comes off his line to intercept. North Korea have improved just a touch in the past five minutes.

  • 35'

    Yaya Toure scores

  • 35'

Ivory Coast have enjoyed 64% possession so far, but it feels like a lot more.

  • 34'

Ahn Jong-Hak gets a diving header away when he stoops to meet Jong's cross, and it is North Korea's first decent chance that has not come from a set-piece.

  • 34'

Smart work from Ivorian 'keeper Boubacar Barry as he realises his momentum is taking him out of the area so drops the ball at his feet and passes to a team-mate.

  • 33'

Every time Ivory Coast get the ball they have acres of space in front of them. North Korea are standing off every time, and it is leaving them very vulnerable.

  • 32'

Keita flashes a stunning volley over the bar from inside the box. What an effort that was.

  • 31'

Over in Durban, Portugal appeal for a penalty but Tiago is booked for diving. That could have been fatal for Ivory Coast. Still 0-0 though.

  • 30'

North Korea to win, with bet365
Ivory Coast to win, with bet365

  • 29'

The Elephants continue to play keep-ball and when North Korea win possession, they quickly lose it again. How the promise of that 2-1 defeat to Brazil has faded.

  • 29'

The ball escapes Yaya Toure after taking a dodgy bounce on this vey dodgy pitch. He looked accusingly at the turf after that.

  • 28'

Keita flings a corner to the back post but after the ball pops around in the box, North Korea clear.

  • 26'

I think Eriksson will be happy with a 3-0 lead at the break, especially given North Korea faded so badly and conceded six in the second half against Portugal.

  • 25'

Romaric, who has been excellent in midfield today, is harshly penalised as he turns with the ball at his feet and knocks his marker to the ground.

  • 24'

North Korea win another free-kick and Hong takes responsibility, curling his set-piece just wide of the post.

  • 24'

Just to reiterate, we need Ivory Coast to win 7-0 or 8-0 and for Brazil to win 2-0 or 1-0. If the Elephants win 6-0 and Brazil win 3-0, it goes to a drawing of lots. Ridiculous, but the Ivorians might be holding up their end of the bargain based on the opening 24 minutes of this game.

  • 22'

ESPN Stats & Info: This is the first time Ivory Coast have scored more than one goal in the first half of a World Cup match.

  • 21'

So we have had two goals of the nine-goal swing. Can they really do this?

  • 20'

GOAL! Here we go! Boka plays a ball into the box and Drogba controls superbly, pulling the ball down and smashing his shot off the underside of the bar. It bounces clear, but Romaric follows up to head in.

  • 19'

North Korea enjoy a rare chance from a free-kick from 30 yards but Hong Jong-Jo blasts his shot wide of the upright.

  • 18'

Far from shutting up shop, North Korea's deployment of a five-man defence has only invited pressure. They have no outlet at present and are struggling to get any meaningful possession.

  • 17'

Romaric hits the woodwork! From 25 yards out on the right of the pitch, the midfielder curls an effort towards goal and strikes the outside of the post. This has been a hammering of the highest order so far.

  • 16'

ESPN Stats & Info: That was the fastest goal scored in Ivory Coast's World Cup history. The previous record was the 37th-minute effort against Serbia & Montenegro in 2006.

  • 15'

North Korea to win, with bet365
Ivory Coast to win, with bet365

  • 15'

And still the chances come. Kolo Toure with the effort this time from range. Can they do this? It would be sensational.

  • 14'

GOAL! Yaya Toure opens the scoring with a measured effort from the edge of the box that rolls past Ri. A delightful finish. Just seven more needed, and a goal for Brazil of course!

  • 12'

Gervinho nicks the ball away from his marker on the edge of the box and his left-footed effort is gathered by goalkeeper Ri. It's another good chance for the Elephants.

  • 12'

It certainly has been a bright start for Ivory Coast and you feel they could overwhelm North Korea if they are so inclined. They certainly need to.

  • 11'

North Korea to win, with bet365
Ivory Coast to win, with bet365

  • 11'

Goal disallowed for Ivory Coast! Didier Drogba heads the ball home from a cross from the right but he is rightly called offside. That was clear.

  • 11'

Romaric slips in Gervinho with a neat ball and the forward bursts to the touchline before rolling his cross right across the front of goal, about a metre out. There were no Ivorian players ready to convert though.

  • 10'

Now Romaric produces a soaring pass for Drogba but his angled ball has too much on it and Ri claims.

  • 9'

Romaric wins a free-kick and from about 45 yards the same player lashes in a fierce drive that Ri clasps at the second attempt. An outrageous effort.

  • 8'

Breaking news from Oberhausen where Paul the octopus has predicted Germany will beat England on Sunday. Confused? Click here for more

  • 8'

Romaric attempts to control with his chest in the box but the ball gets away from the midfielder.

  • 6'

North Korea string a few passes together but a long ball over the top for Jong lacks any kind of accuracy and he turns his back in frustration.

  • 5'

In fairness, Keita has started well and he attempts to play in Yaya Toure with a pass down the line.

  • 5'

Keita attempts to work his way into the North Korea box but is halted. Strangely he didn't throw himself to the ground in agony this time.

  • 4'

Arthur Boka now takes aim from 20 yards and Ri claims his shot. More pressure on North Korea though.

  • 3'

Well that is exactly the start that Ivory Coast needed if they are to have any chance today. They already look confident in possession.

  • 1'

An early chance for Ivory Coast as Yaya Toure slips in Keita with a superb ball and his low effort is saved by Ri Myong-Guk. That could have been a goal, and that would have made things very interesting.

  • 1'

Didier Zokora, Ismael Tiote and Kader Keita are all on booking for Ivory Coast, so if they do qualify (which they surely won't) those players will miss out on the second round if they are booked again.

Now we have the Ivory Coast anthem. Can they secure qualification in the most outrageous fashion? Let's find out...

No tears from Jong Tae-Se today, he was blubbering like a baby when the North Korean anthem came on against Brazil.

Out come the teams in Nelspruit. Ivory Coast have to go out attacking from the off - not a situation Sven-Goran Eriksson is familiar with. If they are 4-0 up at half-time it might get interesting.

Both teams are in the tunnel and we are preparing for kick-off. Remember, North Korea are only playing for pride after losing to Brazil and Portugal while Ivory Coast need a nine-goal swing.

It's been the first day of practice for Sunday's European Grand Prix and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso has hit form. Check out ESPNF1 for all the news, photos and reaction.

ESPN Stats & Info: This will be the first time that either the Ivory Coast have met an Asian side or North Korea have met an African side at the World Cup.

As for the Ivorians, as expected they bring in Gervinho but Salomon Kalou joins Aruna Dindane on the bench. Kader Keita, the man who got Kaka sent off with some cynical playacting, also starts, which is a bit disappointing.

It is a flat-back five again for North Korea but watch out for right-back Cha Jong-Hyok who loves to bomb forward at every opportunity. Jong Tae-Se is the lone striker, supported by Hong Yong-Jo, and as he promised a goal a game at the World Cup, he needs a hat-trick today.

Of course, they do play North Korea who conceded seven against Portugal, but I fancy their performance today will be more in line with their opening 2-1 defeat to Brazil. The Portugal result will have hurt.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the culmination of Group G. Let's be honest, Ivory Coast need something special today, as only a victory, coupled with a Brazil win over Portugal and a nine-goal swing is enough for the Elephants. Like I said, it's unlikely.

Join us at 14.00 GMT to see if Sven-Goran Eriksson and his side can scrape into the second round.
