Atletico interested in Burak Yilmaz

Atletico Madrid have expressed interest in signing Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz, the player's agent has revealed.

Burak Yilmaz broke the deadlock for Galatasaray against Schalke with a classy strike
Yilmaz has had a standout season for Galatasaray

Yilmaz, 27, has had a stellar campaign for Gala, scoring 18 league goals and leading his side to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a number of decisive strikes.

His standout season has already attracted offers from around Europe and Atletico appear to be the frontrunners in a move that would suggest the Spanish side are preparing to lose striker Radamel Falcao in the summer.

Yilmaz' agent Ali Egesel told tuttomercatoweb.com that the Turkey international is prepared to leave Gala if he can secure a lucrative move elsewhere.

"It is true that there is particular interest from Atletico," Egesel said. "But there are other possibilities. There are also some Italian teams interested. Last season he nearly joined Lazio, but I do not want to name names. Burak is happy at Galatasaray, but if an offer came in then we are willing to listen."
