The Ghana international was linked with a move to Manchester United as recently as 2015, although while he remains a lethal striker on his day, his career trajectory hasn't followed the pathway that many would have expected.

Ajaccio will remain in Ligue 2 after successfully appealing against a decision to relegate them on financial grounds.

The club were demoted last month by French football's financial governing body the DNCG along with Corsican rivals Bastia, who had just been relegated from Ligue 1.

Both clubs had the right to appeal, with Ajaccio confident of success after their accounts were merely ruled "incomplete" ahead of a vote to rubber-stamp funding from local authorities.

Club president Leon Luciani said...
