Marseille win, Bordeaux go top

Andre-Pierre Gignac celebrates after scoring the only goal of the game.

Andre-Pierre Gignac lifted the pressure on new Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa as his goal gave them their first win of the season, 1-0 over Guingamp at the Stade Municipal de Roudourou.

- Evian 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain

Bielsa was booed off last week when his first home game ended in a 2-0 loss to Montpellier, but could celebrate three points on Saturday, with Gignac's 46th-minute goal the reward for a dominant display short only of more clinical finishing.

Willy Sagnol's Bordeaux, meanwhile, went top of the table after beating Nice 3-1 to register a third straight victory.

The former France defender appears to be adapting to top-flight management seamlessly and, with nine points collected from the first nine on offer, Sagnol and his free-scoring Girondins are setting the early pace in France.

They had to come from behind to win at the Allianz Riviera, though, given the fact Alexys Bosetti fired Nice ahead with a sumptuous shot in the 12th minute.

Cheick Diabate -- later dismissed with 10 minutes remaining -- equalised from the penalty spot shortly before the half-hour mark, leaving Nicolas Maurice-Belay and Gregory Sertic to notch the goals that kept Bordeaux flying high.

A superb individual goal from Jonathan Delaplace helped Lille maintain their unbeaten start with a 2-0 win at home to Lorient, leaving them two points off the summit.

Delaplace broke the deadlock early in the second half, finishing off a fine run with a well-placed low shot, before Simon Kjaer's deflected free kick sealed the points.

Caen left it late to claim their second win with goals from Ngolo Kante in the 83rd minute and Herve Bazile in added time seeing them beat Reims 2-0 away.

Montpellier recorded back-to-back victories in Ligue 1 for the first time in seven months by downing Metz 2-0 at Stade de la Mosson.

Goals at the end of either half from Siaka Tiene and substitute Souleymane Camara earned Montpellier the spoils as they followed up their impressive away victory by the same scoreline over Marseille last time out.

Claude Makelele claimed his first win as a manager as Bastia overcame Toulouse 1-0.

The Corsican outfit had lost one and drawn one of their opening two league fixtures but Ryad Boudebouz's 24th-minute penalty was enough to give them all three points this time.
