Lorient v AC Ajaccio: Preview

Midfielder Yann Jouffre has his sights set on a top-10 finish for Lorient as he makes his return from injury in the Ligue 1 match at home to bottom club Ajaccio.

A calf problem has ruled Jouffre out of the Brittany club's last three games - but he has been passed fit to return in Sunday's match.

The 29-year-old said: ``It's always hard to see the team play from in the stands or on television. It's very frustrating and difficult. But that's life of a footballer . Very few players are able to play 38 games a season in Ligue 1.

``I rested a lot and I also took the opportunity to see my family in the south of France - but when I got home I worked hard with the physios. Now I am very happy because I have a good feeling which I hope will last.

``If we can finish in the top 10, it would be great. I think it will be difficult to finish seventh or eighth.''

Jouffre, who has scored six goals this season, admitted on his club's official website that he enjoys playing at this time of year.

He said: ``This time of year is the best for football. The pitches are good and the weather is ideal. Everything is designed to make a good end of the season.

``I love scoring and I'd like to be decisive in the last three games.

``But Ajaccio have nothing to lose. We need to be careful and not get trapped by this team.''

Christian Gourcuff's men go into the contest high on confidence after three goals in as many minutes at the end of the game earned them a 4-4 home draw with Montpellier last time out, a result which extended their unbeaten run to five matches.

For Ajaccio, the picture is not as bright.

Christian Bracconi's team are bottom of the table with just three wins to their name all season - and even if they double that return in their last three matches, it may not be enough to lift them above Valenciennes.
