Zlatan Ibrahimovic shines in PSG's win

Paris Saint-Germain eased past Bastia 3-0 in Ligue 1 on Saturday to maintain an eight-point lead over Monaco.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic notched his 23rd league goal with a header in the sixth minute. He outjumped midfielder Yannick Cahuzac at the far post to head into the top corner a cross from Lucas Moura.

The Sweden striker created the second goal in the 19th minute by playing Ezequiel Lavezzi in with an acrobatic backheel flick. Lavezzi held off Francois Modesto to beat goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca with a low strike.

PSG put the result beyond doubt in the closing minutes. Ibrahimovic diverted a long ball toward Lavezzi, who rounded Leca to slam the ball into an empty net.

The defending champions are unbeaten in their past 12 league games.

Monaco edged Sochaux 2-1 after the visitors' hopes of salvaging a draw died when Jordan Ayew was red-carded for kicking Andrea Raggi in the 84th minute.

Dimitar Berbatov converted a cross from Layvin Kurzawa in the sixth minute for his first goal in the league since signing from Fulham in January.

Colombia midfielder James Rodriguez doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 55th minute after Sochaux defender Julien Faussurier fouled Berbatov.

Sochaux substitute Edouard Butin pulled one back in the 83rd minute, but the visitors could not overcome Ayew's red card.

Wissam Ben Yedder fired home a low strike in the 88th minute to give mid-table Toulouse a 3-2 win over Reims.

Le Tefece trailed to two first-half penalties, from Grzegorz Krychowiak and Nicolas de Preville, but Alain Casanova's side roared back with three goals in the last 15 minutes.

Serge Aurier and Eden Ben Basat drew them level before Ben Yedder slalomed through to snatch all three points.

Valenciennes kept alive their hopes of safety by edging Rennes 2-1. Ola Toivonen gave Rennes the lead only for Mathieu Dossevi and Abdul Majeed Waris to turn the game around, the latter following up after his penalty was saved.

Cedric Cambon scored with a close-range header in the 49th minute to help Evian beat Guingamp 1-0 and stay five points above the relegation zone.

Sigamary Diarra scored in the third minute of stoppage time to earn a point for last-place Ajaccio in a 2-2 draw with Nantes.

Nantes had taken just two points from a possible 21 to slump to within two spots of the drop zone, but they looked to have finally secured a win as goals from Serge Gakpe and Filip Djordjevic overturned Mehdi Mostefa's early opener for Ajaccio.
