Ibrahimovic treble caps incredible week

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says that it is not up to him to decide whether he is currently the best player in the world or not after scoring five goals in a week.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic celebrates his goals for PSG.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored 37 goals in 36 games this season -- the highest total in Europe.

Ligue 1 round-up
Mourinho: No Zlatan deal

Ibrahimovic, 32, scored a hat trick in Paris Saint-Germain's 4-2 win over Toulouse on Sunday to add to the brace he got against Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the week.

The Swedish striker is now the top scorer in Europe this season with 37 goals in 36 games in all competitions -- three more than Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

The PSG talisman's monumental recent performances have inevitably wowed the French media, with L'Equipe referring to him on Monday as "the other Eiffel Tower of Paris."

But despite bringing his total to 72 goals in 82 matches for PSG, Ibrahimovic was, for once, doing his best to tone down the hype.

"I feel good physically and mentally," Le Parisien reports the striker as saying after the win over Toulouse.

"But there are still three months left until the end of the league. It's at that time that you have to assess things and especially to see what you've won."

The former AC Milan forward's recent glut of goals have come in spite of the fact that he has been playing with an injury.

"I played with pain in my back again," he continued. "But winning and scoring goals makes me forget about the pain."

The win over Toulouse maintained PSG's five-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 and Ibrahimovic's teammates were thankful that he was able to take to the field.

"We're really lucky to have him," midfielder Marco Verratti told L'Equipe. "He's the player who really makes the difference in our team. He has unbelievable desire."

Ibrahimovic's close friend Maxwell, who has played with the Swede at Ajax, Inter Milan and Barcelona, was also full of admiration.

"He's the type of player who can do something different, something magical on the pitch," the PSG left-back told Le Parisien. "Sometimes he still surprises me, even though I know him."
