Djibril Cisse has sealed his return to Ligue 1 after the well-travelled forward and top-flight club Bastia agreed a deal.
Though he had six months still to run on his contract with Russian Premier League side Kuban Krasnodar, Cisse, 32, terminated it by mutual consent before completing his switch to Bastia.
The pacey forward, who has struck 94 Ligue 1 goals in spells at Auxerre and Marseille, has stated he hopes his return to his native country will enable him to impress French national team coach Didier Deschamps sufficiently to earn a place in Les Bleus' 2014 World Cup squad.
He told the Bastia website: "I think people know my character. I'm a winner, very demanding and never satisfied. While I have the opportunity to help a club and to give the maximum to a club I will be like that. I am 32 years old, it's been that I am in the circuit and I do not feel old at all. I have good years ahead of me and I will do good things."
