Menez could be on way out of PSG

Jeremy Menez could leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer after telling L'Equipe he is undecided over whether to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

With only a year left on his deal at the Parc des Princes, former Roma man Menez, 26, has been linked with a move back to Serie A as well as a switch to Monaco, another of his former clubs, where ex-Roma coach Claudio Ranieri is in charge.

"Today, I don't know whether I want to extend my contract or not. I'm waiting to see whether the board really counts on me," he told the paper.

"You hear a bit of everything. I know Monaco very well, and I also like the coach very much. But, for the moment, no one has contacted me directly."

Having used his summer break to try to overcome the back problem that truncated his Ligue 1 season, Menez will return to training on July 1 with the club under the management of former France coach Laurent Blanc.

The pair last worked together at Euro 2012, after which Menez was one of four players reprimanded for ill-discipline.

The midfielder, handed a one-match international ban for swearing at the referee in France's quarter-final defeat to Spain, said he had never had a problem with Blanc personally.

"I gave a bad impression against Spain but I apologised, and things have always gone well between Laurent Blanc and myself. He knows me, he knows how to use me," he said.
