Corchia set for Lyon switch

Highly-rated Sochaux full-back Sebastien Corchia is set to turn his back on a move out of France to join Lyon, his agent has claimed.

Corchia, 22, has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Juventus over the past few months.

However, the defender has decided his career would be best served by a move to Lyon this summer, with the seven-time Ligue 1 champions keen to build their future around talented youngsters.

"Sebastien has made his choice. Lyon is his future, it's what he wants, it's what he's planned, we can at least confirm that now Sebastien is a well-grounded boy, intelligent, you've seen that throughout his time at Sochaux," Corchia's representative, Francois Gilles, told L'Est Republicain.

"He's chosen Lyon after careful thought, it became clear that was what he should do. Now the three parties have to strike a deal. We're just waiting for Lyon and Sochaux to be on the same wavelength. Everything's tied up from our point of view. We've even seen that his potential replacements have been found or at least targeted."

France Under-21 captain Corchia will replace full-back Anthony Reveillere at the Stade de Gerland after the former Rennes man rejected the offer of a new contract.

The deal could be tied up by as early as this week with Lyon having already made a bid for the player, believed to be in the region of €5 million.

"We've made an offer to Sochaux. Deadline Monday!" Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas tweeted at the weekend. "We've also got another possibility just in case."
