Thiago Motta is excited about PSG's upcoming clash against Real Madrid, admitting the players are fighting for starting spots.

Paris Saint-Germain will host Marseille in the Coupe de France quarterfinals in a matchup of the top two sides in Ligue 1.

PSG beat Sochaux this week to advance in their pursuit of a fourth consecutive cup triump, while Marseille put nine goals past Bourg-en-Bresse.

The game is also a rematch of the 2016 Coupe de France final.

Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe has laughed off the possibility that Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo is past his prime.

The France international and his teammates will face the Ronaldo next week in the first leg of the teams' Champions League round-of-16 clash.

Speaking after a 4-1 win away at Ligue 2 side Sochaux in the Coupe de France round of 16, the 19-year-old rejected the idea.

"If Ronaldo is on the wane, then so are many others," Mbappe said. "He is a top player.

Thiago Motta is excited about PSG's upcoming clash against Real Madrid, admitting the players are fighting for starting spots.

Paris Saint-Germain defender Dani Alves played in goal for the closing moments of his side's Coup de France win at Sochaux after keeper Kevin Trapp was sent off.

PSG held a 4-1 lead when Trapp was dismissed for a foul on Thomas Robinet outside the area, with Brazil international Alves taking over the gloves to face the resulting free kick.

However, the 5-foot-6 defender did not have any work to do as Florian Tardieu fired his effort into the PSG wall.

PSG teammates were 'irritated' with Sochaux comments prematch - Thiago

PSG players thank the travelling support after a 4-1 Coupe de France win against Sochaux.
Thiago Silva made it clear after PSG's match with Sochaux that his respected all opponents.

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has hit back at Sochaux captain Florian Tardieu after the Frenchman accused the Ligue 1 leaders of disrespect ahead of their Coupe de France round of 16 clash at Stade Auguste Bonal on Tuesday.

An Angel Di Maria hat trick and an Edinson Cavani effort saw Unai Emery's men win 4-1 and Silva took the opportunity when speaking with France 2 postmatch to address his opposite number's prematch comments.

Angel Di Maria stays red-hot with a hat trick at Sochaux in the French Cup

Paris Saint-Germain's Dani Alves believes that Angel Di Maria must stay at the club and fight to earn a spot in the starting line-up and must be ready when he gets a chance.

Three-time defending champions Paris Saint-Germain marched into the Coupe de France quarterfinals thanks to an Angel Di Maria hat trick and an Edinson Cavani goal away at Ligue 2 side Sochaux on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp saw red late on and Unai Emery's men were temporarily pegged back when Florian Martin equalised in the first half but otherwise, it was plain sailing for the French capital outfit at Stade Auguste Bonal.
