France's Kylian Mbappe a player who will dominate the world - Arsene Wenger

Kylian Mbappe is one of five or six players who will "dominate the world," Arsene Wenger has told beIN SPORTS.

France international Mbappe, 19, scored twice and won a penalty in the 4-3 World Cup win over Argentina on Saturday.

"Kylian attacked Argentina from the off," former Arsenal manager Wenger said. "He was dangerous all match long and, when he was faced with a decision, he made it.

"Do not forget that Kylian is only 19 years old -- we do not realise what that means at this level. You need to take a step back to understand it. It is exceptional what he has achieved.

"When Kylian was 17 and playing for Monaco, his numbers were incredible. When the numbers are there at that age, it means that there is efficiency on top of very young talent -- this proves that he is part of the group of five or six top players that will soon dominate the world."

Lilian Thuram also hailed the impact being made by Paris Saint-Germain's Mbappe, with the 1998 World Cup winner telling Agence France Presse he was impressed by his confidence.

"When a player is extremely fast and the opposition allows him space, he will inevitably enjoy himself," he said. "That is what it is like to be a great player -- you enjoy space and are efficient.

"Kylian was the detonator in this match. I am convinced that the match was prepared by either the coach [Didier Deschamps] or himself, that he knew Argentina would leave spaces -- we saw it against Croatia.

"What is most impressive about him is that he knows exactly what his qualities are, while young attackers often look for each other.

"Kylian is young and the younger they are, the bigger the opponent is, and the more they enjoy themselves. We saw with Benjamin [Pavard] and Lucas [Hernandez] that they do not ask themselves 10,000 questions."
