France add Eliaquim Mangala after Samuel Umtiti injures hamstring

Eliaquim Mangala has been called up to replace Samuel Umtiti after a hamstring injury forced the Barcelona defender to withdraw from the France squad.

Umtiti, 22, sustained the problem during a practice match in training on Wednesday ahead of Friday's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier with Sweden.

On loan at Valencia from Manchester City, Mangala, 25, last featured for Les Bleus in their 5-2 Euro 2016 quarterfinal win over Iceland in early July.

In a statement on their official website, the French Football Federation also noted Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman will undergo medical examination on Thursday after he took a blow to his left ankle.
