PSG striker Jean-Kevin Augustin hailed by France U19 boss Ludovic Batelli

France under-19 manager Ludovic Batelli has tipped Paris Saint-Germain's Jean-Kevin Augustin for a bright future after his goals helped Les Bluets become European champions.

Augustin scored a wonderful opener as France thrashed Italy 4-0 in Germany on Sunday in the final of the European Under-19 Championship.

The 19-year-old was the tournament's top scorer with six goals in total and Batelli is confident that the PSG academy graduate has what it takes to make an impact at senior level.

"He brought us a lot during this tournament," Batelli was quoted as saying by L'Equipe after France's win in Sinsheim. "It was the very good 'JK' that we love.

"But it's not up to me to say whether he should play at PSG this season. The door to a higher level is going to open at some time -- that's certain.

"From this Euros, I'll remember above all that he's a talented, smiling and attentive player."

Augustin has already featured for PSG's first-team, scoring once in 13 league matches last season. He started four matches in Ligue 1 and also made four appearances in the Champions League, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.

He also scored five times in eight matches in last season's UEFA Youth League, although PSG were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in the final.
