Patrice Evra: France have no excuse for Albania defeat

France full-back Patrice Evra pulled no punches after his side's shock 1-0 defeat to Albania at the Elbasan Arena on Saturday.

Ergys Kace scored the only goal of the game just before half-time as France suffered their second loss in a week following the 4-3 reverse to Belgium last Sunday in a match where they trailed 4-1 before scoring two late goals.

The latest setback -- Les Bleus' third defeat in four matches -- led Evra to question the desire of some players to compete on the international stage.

"Sometimes I think we do not realise how lucky we are," the former Manchester United captain told L'Equipe. "How many players would dream to be in our place?

"People will say it's because it was hot, because it was in Albania, but it's a lack of respect against the jersey of the France team. You cannot make excuses like that."
