U.S. forward Bobby Wood poised to sign new Hamburg deal - report

Hamburg's U.S. international forward Bobby Wood is set to renew his contract, Hamburger Morgenpost has reported.

Wood, 24, joined Hamburg from second-tier club Union Berlin last year, but was linked with a move after details of a €12 million release clause emerged.

Reports suggested Leicester, West Ham and Borussia Dortmund were interested and Wood also switched agents to SportsTotal, which has Germany internationals Toni Kroos and Marco Reus on its books.

But Hamburger Morgenpost said he was poised to sign a four-year deal with an annual salary of around €3 million and a higher release clause.

"We can't confirm nor deny the speculation," a SportsTotal spokesperson told ESPN FC when asked about the report.
