"ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce that an agreement has today been reached with Mr. Paulo Sousa for him to become the new first-team coach of the Viola,'' Fiorentina said in a statement.
"Mr. Sousa will be in Florence tomorrow to complete the formalities. A news conference will be held at the Stadio Artemio Franchi tomorrow, Monday 22 June, at 19:00."
The former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund midfielder has previously managed QPR, Swansea and Leicester, enjoying a brief spell with Maccabi Tel Aviv before moving to Switzerland in May 2014.
He replaces Vincenzo Montella, who was sacked at the end of the season with the club citing a lack of respect from the Italian in his public comments.
Montella guided the Serie A club to a fourth-placed finish this season but then criticised the club's supporters and his contract was terminated after subsequent talks.
