Juan Cuadrado has signed a new contract with Fiorentina that will keep him with the Serie A club until 2019. Cuadrado revealed the news on Twitter, and Fiorentina later confimed the news on their official website. The 26-year-old Colombian will receive close to 3 milion euros per year including bonuses, while the club set a buyout clause of 35 million euros. "I'm happy for the renewal," Cuadrado wrote. "I thank my agent Alessandro Lucci, the Della Valle family, the club as a whole and in particular the President [Mario] Cognini for his availability. Forza Viola!" Cuadrado's new deal comes after a summer in which he nearly left the Viola. Barcelona and Manchester United were both reportedly interested in the winger, who finished the 2014 World Cup as the tournament's joint-top assist leader as Colombia reached the quarterfinals. Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle even admitted he was pessimistic about their chances of holding on to the player, but a suitable offer failed to arrive before the window closed.
