Eden Hazard will support Egypt at World Cup for Mohamed Salah

Eden Hazard has said he will support Egypt in the World Cup because of his friendship with Mohamed Salah, while the Liverpool forward's agent has dismissed reports linking him to Barcelona.

Hazard scored in Belgium's 3-0 win over Egypt in a friendly on Wednesday, with Salah unable to play due to the shoulder injury he suffered during the Champions League final.

Egypt are holding out hope that the Premier League Golden Boot winner can return in time for their opening game of the World Cup when they play Uruguay on June 15.

"Egypt have good players. We managed to take control of the match and scored an early goal which made things easier for ourselves," Chelsea's Hazard told ON Sport, as cited by Sportskeeda.

"We are glad about defeating Egypt 3-0. I wish Salah the best and hope he returns. I will support Egypt in the World Cup for him.

"Egypt are so different without Salah but they still performed well with compact lines. Their playing style is close to that of Tunisia.

"I spoke with Salah after the Champions League final and sent him a message. As I said, he is my friend and I want to see him in the World Cup."

Meanwhile, Salah's agent took to Twitter to deny reports claiming that representatives had offered the player to Barcelona.

Spanish outlet AS also stated that the forward was open to a move to Camp Nou, but saw their report dismissed by Ramy Abbas Issa on Wednesday.
