There's been plenty of bad news surrounding the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with corruption allegations about Qatar's bid to host the event still making the headlines. (1:05)

The president of the International Ski Federation [FIS] has accused FIFA of thinking "they are gods" amid fears over the effects of a winter World Cup on other sports.

Gianfranco Kasper last year voiced fears over the repercussions of moving the 2022 Qatar tournament to the winter months.

But he said that despite having written to FIFA president Sepp Blatter about those concerns, as well as broader anxiety about the effect on the general winter sports calendar, he said he had received no response.

"FIFA has never listened to anyone. Football is just that strong," Kasper said at the Ski World Cup in Beaver Creek, Colorado, in quotes reported by FAZ.

"When the thing with Qatar was brought up for the first time. I immediately wrote a letter to Mr Blatter in the name of all winter sports associations. The reaction? Zero.

"At FIFA they think that they are gods, and act like it. They care about nothing."

Last February, Rene Fasel, who heads the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF), told the Associated Press that scheduling the World Cup in November would clash with events for all seven of his members.

Fasel, an IOC executive board member and the president of ice hockey's governing body, said. "For sure, we have to put up the flag and say: 'Hey guys, be careful.'

"We should really clearly show our position and protect our own interests."

Blatter has suggested a November tournament, while UEFA president Michel Platini said he would prefer a January start -- but that would clash with the lead-in to the 2022 Winter Olympics the following month.

Kasper said then: "We of course would be 100 percent opposed if they try to do it in January."
