Football's world governing body compensates the club sides of players involved in the World Cup with 1,600 pounds for each day of the tournament.
Monies can be claimed from two weeks before the opening match until the day after the country's elimination from the tournament.
A player does not need to participate in games for his club to be eligible for payment. Costa Rica qualified from Group D unbeaten after beating Uruguay and Italy and holding England to a goalless draw.
Jorge Luis Pinto's side, ranked 28th in the official FIFA rankings, now face Netherlands in the quarterfinals after beating Greece on penalties in the round of 16.
MLS sides such as New York Red Bulls, Columbus Crew as well as European teams Levante, Club Brugge and Olympiakos are in line to earn in excess of 60,000 pounds each.
