Didier Deschamps is eager not to dwell on France's excellent start at the World Cup, despite admitting it gave him "enormous satisfaction."

Les Bleus cruised to a 3-0 win against Honduras on Sunday before beating Switzerland 5-2 on Friday night to put them in a strong position to qualify from Group E.

And after the failure to meet expectations at the 2010 World Cup, where France picked up just one point from three games, Deschamps is not looking too far ahead.

He told his postmatch news conference: "It was a great day for us. After 75 minutes, it was 5-0. We put a lot of pressure in the midfield and our attacks were very good, which was not good for the Swiss.

"There is an enormous satisfaction with the result, but we have to continue. This was the objective. We have already scored eight goals and there is no doubt that we have been very efficient.

"It is an open and receptive World Cup. The heat is demanding on the players' bodies, but there is a quick rhythm. It's a wonderful show for the audiences, not only in the stadium but also at home.

"We are competitive. We were able to show this today and it was a good test for us. Despite the result, it was not an easy game. There will be another test in five days' time and we have a new battle.

"I have a very focused group at present. They have a very focused mindset that they want to maintain. There is a sort of force that is arising, but this is not a guarantee of our success. This level of mindset is very important to us."

Deschamps also praised the application of forward Karim Benzema, who has scored three goals and assisted a further two to stand out as France's star man.

He said: "Karim confirmed that he is in great shape and is physically well. He is a very joyful person and top-notch player. He continues doing what he has been doing with us and at Real Madrid."
