Real Salt Lake forward Alvaro Saborio will not be able to play for Costa Rica at the World Cup.

Costa Rican forward Alvaro Saborio will miss the World Cup after a breaking a bone in his right foot.

Ticos coach Jorge Luis Pinto told a news conference that Saborio was injured during a training session on Thursday.

Team physician Dr. Alejandro Ramirez says the 32-year-old Real Salt Lake forward has a broken metatarsal and will need to keep his foot immobile for at least a month.

Pinto says "we have to accept that Alvaro won't be in the World Cup."

Real Lake Sake said Saborio will be sidelined three-to-four months. He has 32 goals in 93 international appearances.
