France goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has withdrawn from his country's World Cup squad after suffering a neck injury in Marseille's final game of the season.

Mandanda, 27, came off after colliding with the knee of Guingamp striker Mustapha Yatabare during the first half of an eventual 1-0 victory for Marseille at the Stade Velodrome.
The goalkeeper lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital after the game, revealing on Twitter on Sunday that he will not be able to join Didier Deschamps' squad in Brazil.
"It's with sadness that I announce that unfortunately I will not be able to hold my spot in the World Cup squad,'' Mandanda said.

Marseille confirmed Mandanda sustained a crack in the first cervical vertebra, adding that he would need to wear a neck brace for three weeks and undergo rehabilitation for a similar period of time.
Mandanda had been named alongside keepers Hugo Lloris of Tottenham and Bastia's Mickael Landreau in France's 23-man squad for the Brazil finals, but Saint-Etienne's Stephane Ruffier -- who was on Deschamps' reserve list -- will now step in.
France play Honduras in their first game of the World Cup on June 15 before facing Switzerland and Ecuador in Group E.
