Samir Nasri has revealed he has asked Didier Deschamps to explain his absence from the France team and admits he is "more pessimistic than optimistic" about playing at the World Cup.

Nasri, 26, was left out of Deschamps' squad for this month's friendly victory over Netherlands -- the last game before the Les Bleus coach announces his provisional 30-man squad for this summer's tournament.
After being dropped for the second leg of France's World Cup playoff with Ukraine following an underwhelming display in the first leg in Kiev, the Manchester City midfielder had to watch from the bench as his teammates clinched the nation’s ticket to Brazil.
Nasri told Canal+ he had hoped Deschamps would give him an insight into why he now finds himself in the international wilderness, while denying his attitude towards his teammates was behind his exclusion..
"If things aren't going well with the French national team, I can only see it's because of one thing, and that's that I perhaps wasn't up to scratch with my performances. All that about my behaviour isn't true,” he said.
“I've played in three different clubs and I've never had a problem with anyone. I concede that I wasn't up to scratch in certain games, notably against Ukraine. I didn't play well, but there were 11 of us on the pitch. All 11, we didn't play well.
“For the moment, I'm more pessimistic than optimistic about the World Cup. Against Netherlands, it was the last squad before the 30 are announced, and I haven't had an explanation.
"I remain circumspect, because I have never had a problem with anyone in the squad. I have asked to speak to the national team coach. For the moment, he hasn't accepted. When I'll have had that discussion, I'll know what is being held against me and what my problem is.
“I will respect his decision whatever. In 2010, for the biggest scandal of the French national team, I wasn't there. Yes, I have my way of behaving, but that's the way it is."
