Gyan joy at Ghana performance versus Germany

Mario Gotze opened the scoring only for Ghana to respond through Andre Ayew and Asamoah Gyan, but Klose came off the bench to clinch a point and also equal former Brazil international Ronaldo's record of 15 World Cup goals.

Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was forced into two smart saves in the first half, parrying away powerful shots from Christian Atsu and then Sulley Muntari.

Up the other end, Germany --  who won their first game of the 2014 World Cup 4-0 versus Portugal -- struggled to break down Ghana, with shot-stopper Fatawu Dauda easily dealing with efforts from Sami Khedira and Gotze.

Gotze broke the deadlock early in the second half thanks to Thomas Muller's teasing delivery, as the midfielder's header deflected off his own knee before finding its way past Dauda.

Ghana equalised just three minutes later when Harrison Afful crossed into the box and Andre Ayew rose to glance a header into the corner for his second of the tournament.

And their comeback was complete just beyond the hour mark as Gyan latched onto Muntari's through ball, steadied himself and then steered the ball into the far corner.

But Germany hit back in Fortaleza. Klose came off the bench to make it 2-2 as the experienced striker slid in from close range, clinching a draw and taking the striker beyond compatriot Gerd Muller's 14 World Cup goals.

The result means Germany are top of Group G on four points after two games with Ghana earning their first point of the tournament. United States, meanwhile, will advance from the group if they beat Portugal on Sunday.
