FIFA has said more than 30,000 tickets for next year's Confederations Cup in Russia have been sold on the first day of their availability.
Russian news agency TASS reported that tickets for the tournament went on sale at 1 p.m. Moscow time (10 a.m. GMT) and were swiftly snapped up.
"Overall, 30,000 tickets have been sold over the first day. Five percent of the tickets were bought by foreigners, with Chileans taking the lead with a big margin, followed by the fans of the German and U.S. football teams," FIFA said.
Seven of the competing nations are already confirmed -- Russia, Germany, Chile, Australia, Mexico, Portugal and New Zealand -- with the eighth and final country becoming known after the African Nations Cup has been played.
The Confederations Cup is played from June 17 to July 2 in the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan.
