Porto boss Lopetegui: Victory over Bayern Munich was deserved

Porto manager Julien Lopetegui believes his side earned a deserved victory over Bayern Munich in their Champions League quarterfinal first leg Wednesday, but laments the fact the Portuguese outfit will have to secure qualification in Munich without outside backs Danilo and Alex Sandro.

Speaking after Porto's shock 3-1 defeat of the Bavarians, Lopetegui told gathered media: "Bayern played a great game, but we got a fair result which was the victory."

A just reward Wednesday, indeed, however Lopetegui warned the tie was not over just yet, saying the return match in Munich will be "the most difficult."

Harder still will be completing the tasks without star Brazilian left and right backs Alex Sandro and Danilo, who will miss the decisive return match due to yellow card accumulation.

"We are without Danilo and Alex and we need to be well-prepared for this situation," the Porto boss said.

Ricardo Quaresma put two goals past Bayern on Wednesday, and expressed his satisfaction with his club's victory.

"We're proud of the victory and of the great game we played," said the Portuguese international. "Nothing is won however, and for me, Bayern is one of the best teams in the world."

Speaking of his second goal, which saw him rob Dante and poke home past Neuer for a 2-0 advantage: "I always want to score a goal, I always think about it. I only had eyes for the goal. As soon as I stole the ball, I only saw the goal in front of me."
