Richarlison wants to be Premier League's top scorer, take Everton to UCL

Everton newcomer Richarlison scored his third goal in two matches to secure a win for the Toffees over Southampton in his debut at Goodison Park.

Everton forward Richarlison wants to be the Premier League's top scorer this season among other lofty goals he has for himself and the club.

The Goodison Park club were roundly questioned this summer when they signed the Brazilian from Watford for a fee that could reach £50 million. In response, the former Fluminense man has opened the current campaign with three goals in his first two games.

Richarlison had burst onto the English scene with a flurry of impressive performances at the start of last season but saw his production drastically drop off in the second half of the campaign.

However, he told Brazilian outlet UOL that he's better prepared for the rigours of the Premier League and has high hopes, personally and collectively.

"I feel more prepared, I already know the rhythm and style of the Premier League, which helps me on the way to the achievements," Richarlison said.

"I want to be the top scorer of the league, take Everton back to the Champions League and reach the Brazilian national team."

Uncapped by his country, Richarlison was hoping to be included in the squad for the Selecao's upcoming friendlies against the United States and El Salvador.

The call from Tite never came, but the former America Mineiro man said he'll be ready when it finally does.

"Man, I was anxious during the call-ups on Friday. I watched with a lot of expectation, but sadly it wasn't this time," he said.

"Even so, I'm still hopeful and I want to be prepared if the opportunity arrives in the future."
