Everton 'close' to managerial appointment - Farhad Moshiri
Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has said the club are close to appointing a permanent successor to Ronald Koeman.
In a statement given to broadcaster Jim White, Moshiri said: "The first priority is to stabilise the club and finalise the appointment of a manager. We are close."
Everton, who parted company with Ronald Koeman last month, are currently under the charge of under-23s manager David Unsworth.
However, they have continued to struggle despite a summer of heavy investment and were thrashed 5-1 at home by Atalanta in the Europa League on Thursday.
Unsworth has said he does not need a timeframe to be put on his stint as caretaker manager after Everton were heavily linked with a move for Watford boss Marco Silva.
Silva, who was only appointed at Vicarage Road in the summer, said recently that he "cannot control" speculation about his future.
