Everton could have snatched late winner vs. Man United - Baines

Leighton Baines felt Everton could have snatched all three points after his 89th-minute penalty earned a 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic put United ahead in the first half when he lobbed the onrushing Maarten Stekelenburg and saw his effort finally cross the line after deflecting off bar and post.

But Everton stole a point when substitute Marouane Fellaini needlessly felled Idrissa Gueye in the penalty area and Baines slotted home the resulting spot-kick.

"It feels like a point,'' Baines told Sky Sports 1 when asked whether it felt like more because of the late equaliser.

"We were still pushing there at the end, but we couldn't get all three.

"We're at home and we want to get back to winning football matches. We're working hard.''

Manchester United defender Phil Jones felt his side had done enough to win the game.

"We controlled the game -- we defended really well,'' he said.

"We didn't create as many chances as we had in the last game.

"We're losing too many points now and it needs sorting. It's becoming a bit of recurring theme.

"It's about getting results and we need to pick up more points.''
