Everton sign winger David Henen on three-year deal from Olympiakos

Belgium youth international David Henen has signed for Everton on a permanent basis after spending last season at Goodison Park on loan.

Henen, 19, has signed a three-year contract, with the Toffees paying a reported £200,000 to Greek champions Olympiakos to complete the transfer.

The winger -- who was linked with a move to Manchester United when he was just 15 -- played for Everton's under-21 side last season, and manager Roberto Martinez believes he has the long-term potential to become a first-team regular.

Martinez tried to sign Henen permanently from Belgian side Anderlecht in 2014, but he ended up joining Olympiakos instead. In a complicated transfer, the Greek side then loaned him to Everton immediately, and have now agreed to sell the player.

Henen told Everton's website: "I am so happy. Everton are a big club and I feel I can develop here. "For a young player it is the best club because they try to develop youngsters. It is perfect for me."
