Romelu Lukaku agent switch doesn't mean he'll leave Everton, Martinez says

Romelu Lukaku's decision to change agents is not a sign that he is about to leave Everton, manager Roberto Martinez says.

The striker has recently signed up with Mino Raiola -- Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli's representative -- after ending a long-term arrangement with Christophe Henrotay.

Raiola, whose other clients include Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, gave an interview to Tuttosport in March suggesting that Lukaku could help Juventus win the Champions League.

It was Henrotay who negotiated the five-year contract signed by the Belgium international when he joined Everton from Chelsea for a club-record 28 million pounds last July.

Martinez, though, is confident that Lukaku will stay on, and insists that he does not see Raiola as a troublemaker.

He pointed to the fact that he has worked before with the Italian agent, who represented Dutch winger Daniel De Ridder when he played for Everton's manager at Wigan.

"Rom has changed his agent but we are not concerned. He is entitled to do that," Martinez told British newspapers.

"Everyone speaks about the colourful character that Mino Raiola is but he has a lot of players who are happy to stay at one club.

"I dealt with Mino Raiola at Wigan and not many people know that he had Danny de Ridder or Vladimir Weiss, players who have been happy to stay at a club. I don't think there is anything to read into that.

"It has been a very interesting season from Rom's point of view. At the age of 21 he had to cope with coming back from a World Cup and it affected his physical level until January.

"Since January he has been very consistent and he probably hasn't been given the credit his performances deserve. He has been performing really well."
