Everton manager Roberto Martinez not worried about Kevin Mirallas exit

LIVERPOOL -- Everton manager Roberto Martinez says there is "no danger" of Kevin Mirallas leaving for Liverpool or Tottenham.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Spurs have made contact with the Belgium international forward's agent over a possible switch to north London.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, who was quoted over the weekend as saying that he would consider leaving Everton if they could not offer Champions League football.

Mirallas, signed from Greek club Olympiacos in a 5.3 million-pound deal in August 2012, has a contract until 2016, and Martinez is optimistic that he will extend it.

Asked if there was any danger of Mirallas leaving, the manager said: "No. No danger whatsoever. I'm sure that's a bad translation."

The Spanish boss also insisted that a new contract for the forward, who helped Belgium reach the World Cup quarterfinals in Brazil earlier this year, is not imminent. But he added that informal discussions with the player are ongoing to ensure he is happy at Goodison Park.

Martinez, whose side host Russian club Krasnodar in the Europa League on Thursday, said: "There's no latest. I know you love picking up little headlines around Europe. Kevin Mirallas is on a long-term contract with us.

"We're delighted with his form. We're delighted with his football. He's enjoying his football with Everton, and we are always working behind the scenes to try to see if we can extend relationships.

"We have been talking with Kevin for a long time because we want to see how he feels about his situation, and we want to make sure that he feels rewarded and wanted.

"He's quite happy where he is. He just wants to concentrate on his football, and that's fine for everyone."
