Cristiano Ronaldo breaks Luis Figo's Portugal caps record vs. Austria

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the most-capped player for Portugal after being named in the starting XI against Austria for their second match in Group F of Euro 2016.

Ronaldo is now one cap ahead of the legendary Luis Figo on 128 appearances for his country, and has scored 58 goals.

And the 31-year-old now also jointly shares the all-time Euros appearance record at 16 games, along with by Lilian Thuram (France) and Edwin van der Sar (Netherlands).

The Real Madrid forward could become the first player in history to score in four different European Championship, while he is also tied with Nuno Gomes for the most Euro goals in Portuguese history (six).

Ronaldo had already broken Gomes' record of caps at the Euros, with his appearance against Iceland his 15th in the competition.
