Hail briefly halts Ukraine-Northern Ireland match at Euro 2016

The European Championship game between Ukraine and Northern Ireland game was temporarily halted in the second half as hail stones fell on the pitch in Lyon, France.

Consistent rain had slowed play in the first half, but Northern Ireland took the lead after the break and the tempo had just started to pick up when the weather took a turn for the worse.

Czech referee Pavel Kralovec signalled for play to stop in the 58th minute and he and the players took shelter in the tunnel.

But the hail stopped within two minutes and the teams re-took the field and resumed play.
