Spain lucky to have 'two of the best goalkeepers in the world' - Petr Cech

Petr Cech has hailed Spain's goalkeeping options, with La Roja coach Vicente del Bosque able to choose between Iker Casillas and David De Gea to start between the sticks at Euro 2016.

It is still not clear who of Casillas or De Gea will be handed a starting spot for Spain's opening game with Czech Republic on June 13, with the duo having shared goalkeeping duties at times in the past.

Cech will be a certain starter in goal for Czech Republic when they face La Roja, and he admits to being jealous of the options at Del Bosque's disposal.

"[Del Bosque] is lucky to have two of the best goalkeepers in the world; Iker has a lot of experience and many titles throughout his career," he is quoted as saying by Marca.

"And David has had two incredible seasons with Manchester United, and though it's a very important and difficult decision for Del Bosque, again, he has both."

Reigning European champions Spain will be clear favourites when they meet Czech Republic, but Arsenal keeper Cech believes his side have the ability to cause an upset.

"I think defending well will be very important, and when we recover the ball we must use it wisely and be patient, because we won't have much possession," he said.

"We know that we are not favourites. When you look at Spain you see a lot of big name players, quality and talent, but I have a lot of experience of playing in big games and I hope to have a little luck too."

Cech has also taken hope from the result of Spain's last match -- a 1-0 defeat to Georgia earlier this week.

"Everyone thought [a Spain win against Georgia] would be easy and in the end they lost 1-0," he said. "Anything can happen in football, so we'll work extremely hard together to try and get something from the match."
