Roy Hodgson questions FA over England contract renewal

Hodgson is channeling his inner Jose Mourinho in asking his England squad to play with more of an edge.
England manager Roy Hodgson was given the role in May 2012.

Roy Hodgson has questioned whether it is correct for the Football Association to delay a decision on his future as England manager until after Euro 2016.

Hodgson's contract is up in July next year and the 67-year-old said he had yet to discuss his future with new FA chief executive Martin Glenn, who revealed no decision will be made until after next year's tournament in France.

Hodgson, speaking in St Petersburg after the 2018 World Cup qualifying draw, said that he would love to guide England on...

Hodgson dodges talk of England future, focused on strong Euro '16

Roy Hodgson is focused on making an impact with England at the Euros.

Roy Hodgson says he will not focus on his own future as England manager ahead of Saturday's 2018 World Cup draw.

Hodgson is in the position of representing England and the Football Association in St. Petersburg without knowing if he will still be manager of the national team beyond the end of the Euro 2016 finals.

Hodgson said: "Regarding my own future, I am fully focused on preparing England for...

UEFA announced that the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) had been docked one point because of the racist behaviour of their fans during the 1-1 draw with Italy in Split last month. Television pictures of the game showed how a swastika had been drawn on the pitch.

"The HNS has also been ordered to play its next two home matches in UEFA competition behind...

Greece coach Sergio Markarian quits after poor Euro 2016 qualifying form

Sergio Markarian has overseen poor results as Greece attempt to qualify for Euro 2016.

Sergio Markarian has quit as coach of Greece after a second loss to the Faroe Islands in qualifying for next year's European Championship.

Markarian, 70, apologised for the poor results and announced his resignation in a statement on Tuesday.

The Uruguayan took over in February from Claudio Ranieri but failed to lift Greece from the bottom of Group F, securing only a 0-0 draw in Hungary and losing 2-1 to the Faeroe Islands last month.

Ranieri -- who has since taken over at Leicester -- was...
