Antonio Conte asks Serie A bosses to keep Italy stars fit

Italy coach Antonio Conte would like to see more done by club coaches to ensure Italian players are getting more regular game time.

The former Juventus coach met with 15 of his colleagues from Serie A clubs on Tuesday and told them he wants to see more Italian talent on the field each weekend. If they cannot oblige, he has asked them to ensure the players he can select his squads from still get a good run-out each weekend to keep them in shape.

Real Madrid star Toni Kroos admits his side will miss Luka Modric who injured himself playing for Croatia.

Croatia coach Niko Kovac has blamed Luka Modric's current hamstring injury on him being overplayed by club Real Madrid.

Modric is currently sidelined with a tendon tear picked up playing for Croatia against Italy in a Euro 2016 qualifier in November, with Blancos coach Carlo Ancelotti saying this week that the recovery was going well and he expected the 29-year-old to be training again in mid-January.

Pal Dardai to stay coach of Hungary through Euro qualifying

Pal Dardai, who took over Hungary on an interim basis, will remain coach through the Euro qualifying campaign.

BUDAPEST, Hungary -- The Hungarian soccer federation says Pal Dardai will remain coach of the country's national team until the end of qualifying for the 2016 European Championship.

Dardai, a 38-year-old former midfielder who played 61 times for Hungary, was interim coach during one friendly and three Euro 2016 qualifying matches after the dismissal of Attila Pinter in September.
