Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insists his side's 3-1 win over Malaga was a positive match, despite Gareth Bale and Luka Modric both limping off with injuries.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is responsible for Luka Modric's latest injury setback, Croatian national team doctor Boris Nemec has claimed.

Modric is facing six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a medial collateral ligament sprain on his right knee during Madrid's 3-1 win over Malaga at the weekend.

It occurred just weeks after the 29-year-old had returned to action from a four-month absence with a hamstring problem, and Nemec told Nova TV that Ancelotti was at fault.

Latest FIFA world ranking sees Belgium climb to third place

ZURICH -- Belgium rose to their highest-ever spot at No. 3 in the latest FIFA monthly rankings, which are still led by World Cup winner Germany.

Argentina are second while Belgium traded places with Colombia, who now sit fourth.

Brazil, who beat France in a friendly last month, rose to No. 5 and swapped places with Netherlands at No. 6.

Michael Carrick in line for England milestone at Euro 2016

Michael Carrick has won 33 caps for England.

Michael Carrick will have had the longest England career of any outfield player since Sir Stanley Matthews if he appears at Euro 2016.

The Manchester United midfielder has only won 33 caps for his country since debuting in May 2001 but, if he features in France next summer, will become the first outfield player for more than half a century to have an international career that spanned 15 years.
