Hertha's Dardai mourns after brother dies during game

BERLIN, July 22 (Reuters) - Hertha Berlin's Hungarian international midfielder Pal Dardai was in mourning on Monday after the sudden death of his younger brother Balazs during a soccer match at the weekend.

Balazs Dardai, 21, who played for Hungarian third division side FC Barcs, died during a tournament on Saturday after an artery burst when he jumped for a ball, the German newspaper Bild reported. He died almost immediately.

His father, also called Pal, was coach of FC Barcs and was watching the game when it happened, Bild said.

Hertha Berlin's commercial manager Dieter Hoeness told Dardai the news in Austria, where Hertha were playing Turkish club Fenerbahce in a pre-season warm-up game.
