Michel in at Aris Salonika

ATHENS, June 19 (Reuters) - Former France trainer Henri Michel has been appointed coach of Aris Salonika, the Greek club announced on Tuesday.

The experienced coach, who steered his country to third place in the 1986 World Cup finals in Mexico, met with Aris owner Dimitris Kontominas in Athens to sign a one-year contract for an undisclosed amount.

Michel, 54, has spent the majority of his coaching career with national teams - he was in charge of Morocco in the 1998 World Cup finals in France - although he had a spell in 1990-91 in charge of Paris St Germain.

'I am looking forward to working with Aris, wich is one of the top five teams in Greece,' Michel told the club's official website.
