Tottenham vs. Manchester City to be played on Monday Oct. 29 - sources

Tottenham and Manchester City have agreed to move their Premier League fixture to Monday Oct. 29, sources have told ESPN FC.

Ongoing delays at Spurs' new stadium means the game might not be played there as initially scheduled, but sources say it is still being targeted as one to be played in Tottenham.

Their temporary home at Wembley is in use on the originally scheduled weekend of Oct. 27-28, and sources said a move to the following Monday is a precaution in case the new stadium is not ready.

City were reportedly unwilling to reverse the fixture as this would cause a pile-up of successive away games for them later in the season.

Spurs have already had to move games against Liverpool and Cardiff to Wembley, where they will also play at least one Champions League group game.

Giorgio Marchetti, UEFA's deputy secretary general, said of the stadium issue: "In principle the regulations state that you have to play in a single stadium, but we will have to see."

Delays in building the new ground has also led to Spurs applying to the EFL for special dispensation to play their Carabao Cup third-round tie with Watford at Stadium MK as Wembley is unavailable.
