Premier League team news: Injuries, suspensions update
SOUTHAMPTON VS. CHELSEA
SOUTHAMPTON: Steven Davis will face a late fitness test. The Northern Ireland midfielder is battling an Achilles problem to be fit in time to face Antonio Conte's side at St Mary's Stadium. Jan Bednarek could make his top-flight debut for Saints, with defender Jack Stephens starting a three-match suspension.
Provisional squad: Forster, McCarthy, Taylor, Soares, Pied, Bertrand, Bednarek, Hoedt, Yoshida, Targett, Lemina, Davis, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Hojbjerg, Boufal, Long, Redmond, Tadic, Gabbiadini, Austin, Carrillo.
CHELSEA: Ross Barkley is available after recovering from injury. His availability means that David Luiz and Ethan Ampadu, owing to respective long-term knee and ankle injuries, are their only absentees. Gary Cahill is also expected to retain his place, having come in for Andreas Christensen for last week's 1-1 draw with West Ham.
Provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Eduardo, Azpilicueta, Alonso, Cahill, Christensen, Rudiger, Emerson, Zappacosta, Moses, Kante, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Bakayoko, Barkley, Willian, Hazard, Pedro, Giroud, Morata.
BURNLEY VS. LEICESTER
BURNLEY: Burnley are hopeful winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson will have recovered from a calf strain. Gudmundsson could come in for Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, who is a doubt after feeling tightness in his hamstring, while fellow winger Scott Arfield (calf) remains sidelined. Burnley will definitely be without key defender Ben Mee, who is set to miss several weeks with a shin problem, so Kevin Long will continue.
Provisional squad: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Ward, Lennon, Cork, Westwood, Gudmundsson, Nkoudou, Hendrick, Barnes, Wood, Vokes, Heaton, Marney, Bardsley, Long, Taylor, Wells.
LEICESTER: Hamza Choudhury is set to start his first Premier League game for Leicester. Development squad captain Choudhury will line up alongside Adrien Silva in central midfield, with Vicente Iborra set to miss the rest of the season with the hamstring injury that forced him off during the home defeat to Newcastle last weekend. Daniel Amartey is still working his way back to fitness after his own hamstring injury, while Wilfred Ndidi will serve the final game of his two-match ban.
Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Hamer, Jakupovic, Maguire, Morgan, Fuchs, Simpson, Chilwell, Benalouane, Dragovic, Albrighton, Gray, Silva, Choudhury, Vardy, Iheanacho, Diabate, Okazaki.
CRYSTAL PALACE VS. BRIGHTON
CRYSTAL PALACE: Strikers Christian Benteke and Alexander Sorloth face late fitness tests. They have returned to contention following respective groin and hamstring injuries, but while Jeffrey Schlupp is nearing a first-team return following an ankle injury, the Brighton fixture will come too soon. Joel Ward, Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Bakary Sako and Connor Wickham remain long-term absentees.
Provisional squad: Hennessey, Cavalieri, Speroni, Wan-Bissaka, Fosu-Mensah, Tomkins, Sakho, Kelly, Delaney, Jach, Riedewald, Van Aanholt, Souare, Townsend, Cabaye, Milivojevic, Loftus-Cheek, McArthur, Rakip, Lee, Zaha, Benteke, Sorloth.
BRIGHTON: Brighton will be without Davy Propper through suspension. The Dutch midfielder starts a three-match ban after Albion failed to get his red card against Huddersfield overturned. But winger Anthony Knockaert returns to the squad after completing his three-game suspension.
Provisional squad: Ryan, Krul, Maenpaa, Bruno, Schelotto, Bong, Suttner, Duffy, Dunk, Goldson, Hunemeier, Rosenior, Stephens, Knockaert, Kayal, Skalak, Izquierdo, March, Gross, Locadia, Murray, Hemed, Baldock, Ulloa.
HUDDERSFIELD VS. WATFORD
HUDDERSFIELD: Huddersfield midfielder Jonathan Hogg is available. Hogg limped out of last week's draw at the Amex Stadium after Davy Propper's tackle, which earned the Brighton midfielder a straight red card, but returned to full training on Wednesday. Boss David Wagner has no new injury or suspension worries as the Terriers chase their first win in six, while Elias Kachunga, Danny Williams (both ankle) and Michael Hefele (knee) are still out.
Provisional squad: Lossl, Kongolo, Schindler, Jorgensen, Hadergjonaj, Hogg, Billing, Mooy, Van La Parra, Quaner, Pritchard, Ince, Depoitre, Mounie, Coleman, Smith, Malone, Lowe.
WATFORD: Watford could have defender Christian Kabasele available after his hamstring problem. Defender Craig Cathcart, fit from a hip injury, could also be involved after being an unused substitute in last weekend's home defeat by Burnley. Forward Gerard Deulofeu (foot) is stepping up his rehabilitation along with defender Younes Kaboul (foot) and midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah (knee) while Tom Cleverley (thigh) also continues his recovery.
Provisional squad: Karnezis, Janmaat, Prodl, Mariappa, Kiko, Holebas, Doucoure, Hughes, Capoue, Pereyra, Deeney, Gomes, Britos, Cathcart, Richarlison, Gray, Carrillo, Okaka, Kabasele
SWANSEA VS. EVERTON
SWANSEA: Swansea's top scorer Jordan Ayew is available after completing a three-match ban. Defender Mike van der Hoorn is expected to be fit after being forced off during last weekend's draw at West Brom with a shoulder injury. Sam Clucas should also feature after suffering a kick in training, but fellow midfielder Renato Sanches (hamstring) remains out after staying with parent club Bayern Munich to complete his recovery work.
Provisional squad: Fabianski, Naughton, Van der Hoorn, Fernandez, Mawson, Olsson, Ki, Carroll, King, Clucas, J Ayew, A Ayew, Nordfeldt, Roberts, Bartley, Britton, Dyer, Narsingh, Routledge, Abraham, James, Byers.
EVERTON: Idrissa Gana Gueye is in line to start. It was deemed too much of a risk for the influential midfielder to start against Liverpool following a hamstring problem but he successfully came through 33 minutes at Goodison Park. Defender Phil Jagielka suffered a reaction following last weekend's goalless draw but should be fit. Gylfi Sigurdsson (knee), Mason Holgate (ankle), Eliaquim Mangala (knee) and James McCarthy (broken leg) all remain sidelined.
Provisional squad: Pickford, Robles, Coleman, Kenny, Martina, Jagielka, Keane, Williams, Baines, Funes Mori, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Baningime, Klaassen, Rooney, Walcott, Davies, Bolasie, Tosun, Calvert-Lewin, Niasse.
LIVERPOOL VS. BOURNEMOUTH
LIVERPOOL: Liverpool welcome captain Jordan Henderson back from suspension. The midfielder missed Tuesday's Champions League clash with Manchester City due to suspension. Boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Nathaniel Clyne and Ragnar Klavan have picked up problems and will likely join Joel Matip (thigh) on the sidelines, but Roberto Firmino (neck) should be fine and Emre Can (back) and Adam Lallana (muscle problem) may return before the end of the season.
Provisional squad: Karis, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Mignolet, Clyne, Klavan, Masterson, Moreno, Woodburn, Kane, Jones, Ings, Solanke.
BOURNEMOUTH: Bournemouth will again be without defender Adam Smith because of a knee problem. Midfielder Junior Stanislas has been ruled out for the rest of the season following knee ligament surgery. Defender Tyrone Mings also continues his rehabilitation from a back injury.
Provisional squad: Begovic, Francis, S Cook, Ake, Daniels, Gosling, Pugh, L Cook, Fraser, Wilson, Defoe, Boruc, B Smith, Simpson, Surman, Taylor, King, Mousset
TOTTENHAM VS. MAN CITY
TOTTENHAM: Danny Rose will miss out due to a calf injury. Left-back Rose picked up the minor problem after playing 90 minutes against Stoke, though his absence is not expected to be lengthy. Midfielder Harry Winks is in Qatar seeking answers to an ankle injury while defender Kyle Walker-Peters (hamstring) also misses out against the champions elect.
Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Gazzaniga, Trippier, Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Foyth, Sanchez, Davies, Dier, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Sissoko, Alli, Son, Moura, Lamela, Llorente, Kane.
MAN CITY: Manchester City are without top scorer Sergio Aguero (knee). Midfielder Fernandinho is also missing through suspension and defender John Stones is still troubled by a thigh problem. Left-back Benjamin Mendy, out since September with knee ligament damage, also remains on the sidelines.
Provisional squad: Ederson, Bravo, Danilo, Walker, Otamendi, Kompany, Laporte, Delph, Zinchenko, Toure, Gundogan, D Silva, B Silva, Sterling, Sane, De Bruyne, Foden, Diaz, Jesus.
NEWCASTLE VS. ARSENAL
NEWCASTLE: Loan signing Islam Slimani will hope for a first start. The Leicester frontman belatedly made his debut for the Magpies as a late substitute against Huddersfield a fortnight ago, but was ineligible to play against his parent club last weekend and will be looking to force his way into manager Rafael Benitez's thoughts. Benitez otherwise has no fresh injury problems as he looks for a fourth successive win which would take Newcastle past his survival target of 40 points.
Provisional squad: Dubravka, Darlow, Yedlin, Manquillo, Dummett, Haidara, Gamez, Lascelles, Clark, Mbemba, Shelvey, Merino, Hayden, Ritchie, Atsu, Murphy, Diame, Kenedy, Perez, Gayle Slimani, Joselu.
ARSENAL: Aaron Ramsey will be hoping to be involved despite a deep cut on his knee. The Wales midfielder had the gash stapled closed during Thursday's Europa League draw at CSKA Moscow and managed to play for the remainder of the match, while Jack Wilshere took a kick to his ankle but also seems likely to feature. Granit Xhaka may return after missing the game in Russia through illness, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang comes back into the fold having been cup-tied. David Ospina (ankle) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (knee) miss out.
Provisional squad: Cech, Macey, Holding, Mustafi, Chambers, Bellerin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Nelson, Kolasinac, Elneny, Xhaka, Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Iwobi, Welbeck, Lacazette, Nketiah, Aubameyang.
MAN UNITED VS. WEST BROM
MAN UNITED: Manchester United have no fresh injury concerns. Back-up goalkeeper Sergio Romero is sidelined after suffering a collision on Argentina duty, but versatile Daley Blind is back in training and pushing for a return. Romelu Lukaku has overcome illness that affected him in the derby win against Manchester City. Ashley Young was also reportedly feeling unwell in that game.
Provisional squad: De Gea, Pereira, O'Hara, Kovar, Valencia, Darmian, Shaw, Young, Lindelof, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Bailly, Matic, Carrick, Pogba, Fellaini, McTominay, Herrera, Mata, Lingard, Martial, Sanchez, Rashford, Lukaku.
WEST BROM: Daniel Sturridge, Nacer Chadli and Sam Field could all be back in contention. On-loan Liverpool striker Sturridge has missed the last seven games with a hamstring injury while Chadli's season has been constantly interrupted by a thigh problem. Fellow midfielder Field returned from the last international break with a calf complaint. All three players are back in training and caretaker boss Daren Moore is hoping they will be involved at Old Trafford. However, Jonny Evans (knee) might miss out against his former club and Hal Robson-Kanu (concussion) is not yet ready to return.
Provisional squad: Foster, Myhill, Dawson, Nyom, Hegazi, Gibbs, Livermore, Field, Krychowiak, Brunt, Phillips, Rondon, Rodriguez, Burke, Yacob, McAuley, McClean, Sturridge.
WEST HAM VS. STOKE
WEST HAM: Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and James Collins could be added. Carroll has been sidelined with an ankle fracture since December, Lanzini suffered a knee injury on international duty with Argentina and Collins has been out for a month with a hamstring problem. Winston Reid, Sam Byram and Pedro Obiang remain long-term absentees.
Provisional squad: Hart, Adrian, Ogbonna, Rice, Collins, Cresswell, Evra, Masuaku , Zabaleta, Noble, Kouyate, Fernandes, Diangana, Cullen, Lanzini, Mario, Arnautovic, Hernandez, Carroll, Hugill.
STOKE: Stoke midfielder Maxim Choupo-Moting remains a doubt. The 29-year-old has not featured since March 17 because of groin problem, and manager Paul Lambert admits he is still struggling. Fellow midfielder Charlie Adam serves the final match of his three-game suspension.
Provisional squad: Butland, Haugaard, Shawcross, Zouma, Martins Indi, Wimmer, Cameron, Bauer, Pieters, Johnson, Fletcher, Allen, Ndiaye, Shaqiri, Sobhi, Crouch, Campbell, Diouf.
