Tottenham back to winning ways with Stoke rout, West Ham shock Chelsea

Tottenham got back to winning ways in the Premier League as they recorded their first victory in five games with a 5-1 thrashing of Stoke at Wembley.

Tottenham took the lead in the 21st minute when Son Heung-Min's cross from the left was headed into his own net by Ryan Shawcross.

They doubled their advantage shortly after the restart through Son, who converted after being played in by Dele Alli, before Harry Kane made it three with a header from Ben Davies' cross just a minute later.

Kane bagged his second and Tottenham's fourth on 65 minutes before Christian Eriksen got in on the act nine minutes later, with Shawcross grabbing a consolation for Stoke, as Mauricio Pochettino's side moved ahead of rivals Arsenal into fifth place.

Marko Arnautovic struck the winner as West Ham beat Chelsea 1-0 at the London Stadium to record their first Premier League win since September.

West Ham got off to a fine start, opening the scoring inside six minutes through Arnautovic, who played a one-two with Manuel Lanzini on the edge of the box before curling an excellent strike into the bottom corner.

Chelsea piled on the pressure as the game wore on, with Adrian denying N'Golo Kante and Davide Zappacosta in the first half and Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard firing wide in the closing stages, but West Ham were able to hold on for victory to leave them adrift of safety only on goal difference.

Asmir Begovic saved Christian Benteke's last-minute penalty as Bournemouth held on for a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Bournemouth edged ahead after 10 minutes through Jermain Defoe, who got on the end of a corner routine and fired into the bottom corner, before Palace found an equaliser in the 41st minute when Luka Milivojevic netted from the penalty spot after Wilfried Zaha had been brought down by Asmir Begovic.

Palace then turned the game on its head just a few minutes later as Scott Dann slid in at the back post to meet Yohan Cabaye's cross, only for Defoe to level proceedings on the stroke of half-time with a stunning first-time strike that looped over Julian Speroni and into the back of the net.

But deep into stoppage time Charlie Daniels fouled Zaha in the box, with Benteke stepping up to convert the penalty, only for Begovic to turn it away.

Ayoze Perez's late own goal cost Newcastle a precious Premier League draw as Leicester ruined the Magpies' 125th birthday celebrations with a 3-2 victory.

Substitute Perez thumped the ball into his own net four minutes from time in his efforts to prevent Shinji Okazaki from converting Jamie Vardy's cross, just as it looked as though Dwight Gayle's equaliser had clinched just a second Premier League point in seven games for Newcastle.

In the process, he handed Leicester, who had bounced back from Joselu's early opener with goals from Riyad Mahrez and Demarai Gray, a third successive league win in front of a crowd of 52,117 at St James' Park.

Scott Arfield scored the only goal of the game as Burnley beat 10-man Watford 1-0 at Turf Moor.

Marvin Zeegelaar was dismissed for Watford shortly before half-time after sliding in on Steven Defour, with Burnley then taking the lead just a few minutes later when Scott Arfield picked out the bottom corner.

Burnley had the ball in the back of the net again through Ashley Barnes in the 72nd minute, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside.

Swansea moved off the bottom of the table thanks to a 1-0 victory against West Brom at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea came close to breaking the deadlock towards the end of the first half with Jake Livermore hitting his own post before Alfie Mawson headed over the bar just a few moments later.

But the hosts did manage to find a breakthrough nine minutes from time through Wilfried Bony, who fired a thumping hit into the back of the net to move Swansea ahead of Palace up to 19th.

Steve Mounie scored a brace as Huddersfield beat Brighton 2-0 at the John Smith's Stadium to move up to 11th.

Huddersfield opened the scoring after 12 minutes when Steve Mounie tapped in at the back post after Christopher Schindler had flicked on Chris Lowe's corner.

And Mounie had his second just before the break, guiding home a header after Aaron Mooy's cross was flicked into his path by Mathias Zanka.
