Alexandre Lacazette on bench for Arsenal's trip to Manchester City

Arsene Wenger has made changes for Arsenal's Premier League clash at Manchester City and left out record signing Alexandre Lacazette

The Arsenal boss also opted to put Alexis Sanchez up front with Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi playing behind him, dropping Lacazette.

While Sead Kolasinac is fit to start, captain Per Mertesacker was not even on the bench -- leaving Laurent Koscielny as the only natural centre-back in Wenger's squad.

Kyle Walker and David Silva were surprisingly left out of City's midweek Champions League win at Napoli but they are back for the match at the Etihad Stadium.

Danilo and Ilkay Gundogan are the players that drop to the bench as Pep Guardiola reverts to the defence and midfield that has been so successful in the Premier League this season.

Perhaps another shock is Gabriel Jesus remains on the bench for a second successive game with Sergio Aguero retaining his place.

Aguero had a quiet game in Italy -- apart from the huge achievement of becoming the club's all-time record goal scorer.

But the Argentina international does enjoy playing against the Gunners -- scoring five times in his last seven appearances against them, including the last three games.
