Spurs' Dele Alli beats Kane, Lukaku, Sane to PFA Young Player of Year

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has been named the PFA Young Player of the Year for the second successive season.

Alli, 21, has scored 16 Premier League goals this season, providing five assists, and netted one goal in the club's Champions League campaign.

He fought off competition from teammate Harry Kane, Everton's Romelu Lukaku, Leroy Sane of Manchester City, Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and Burnley centre-back Michael Keane.

The was surprise in some quarters that the England international did not make it onto the six-man shortlist for the senior award, which did feature both Kane and Lukaku.

Alli's goals and assists have fired Spurs into contention for the Premier League title, with the club sat four points behind current leaders Chelsea.
