Arsenal must keep Ozil and Sanchez for next season - Bob Wilson

Arsenal legend Bob Wilson has urged his former club to do what it takes to keep Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at the club next season.

Wilson, who made more than 200 appearances for the Gunners as a goalkeeper, won the double in the 1970-71 campaign, and is a fan of both players.

Sanchez has scored 17 goals while providing eight assists in 25 games for Arsenal this season while Ozil found the back of the net five times, along with his four assists in 22 league games.

Neither player has committed their futures to the London club, and while Wilson is keen to see both players staying at the Emirates, he was also quick to state which attacker he preferred if he had to choose one.

"I hope that they do keep hold of both of them," Wilson told Omnisport.

"I don't hold out a lot of hope for keeping hold of both of them [though].

"A lot will depend on that top-four position, because I think there are six [clubs] going for four [spots] this season.

"Although Arsenal have been there for 19 years -- it's been an extraordinary achievement by Arsene Wenger to do that -- there is a danger we miss out and that will reflect on two players who are renewing contracts, hopefully.

"So a lot will depend on the 13 games or so that are left in this particular season.

"Of all the players I would like to stay, it's Sanchez. Ozil is an extraordinary footballer, but if it comes to a choice between them, for whatever reason, I would have to put Sanchez just ahead of Ozil."
